I'm looking for some advice on resting before and after races.
I just finished one of my 'A' races last Sunday, it was 2-55-15 which was a good long effort for me. I rested Monday then did light workouts Tue & Wed (I was still a little sore from Sunday). The week before the race I did very little.
Now, on the spur of the moment I've entered an Oly for next Sunday.
What do I do, light workouts (1hr) on Friday and Saturday? Rest completely? Train straight through (eg return to 11/2 -2 hr workouts).
I'm just concerned if I take it too easy come next Monday I will have had only had 2 serious workouts in the previous 2 weeks (the races). I'm training for a 1/2 IM at the end of the summer, this is THE main goal for the season.
I think I've answered it myself... train right through and don't worry if I'm not the freshest for this Sunday.
Anyone have advice on training around 'B' races?
