Orbea Chrono: Any Thoughts!
I am at the beginning phase of looking for a new frame. I have been looking over the internet for frames and came across the Orbea Chrono. Does anyone have one of these or have any experience with them?

I've got one. They are very nice. A bit tough to get a hold of, but they are the real deal, team issue stuff. Like Cervelo and Trek the head tube height is rather low, I use a Ritchey WCS stem that offers a bit of rise. The bike has an incredibly stiff BB and paired with a Cobb fork, it is quite comfortable although my training and racing is only for 40km. The paint finish is amazing and handles abuse quite well. The seat angle is a middle of the road 76 degrees which allows for an offset post to be used and drop bars if you'll be setting up the front end with STI. Seems as tho their popularity is growing faster than their supply tho, if you want one this season get your order in.

Where in the country are you?

I have raced on the Chrono frame for one year now. I have found it to be very capable for a variety of bike courses. The medium seat angle helps me climb with power and the short head tube lets me get really aero. I race sprints and olympic distances, but have riden over 200k in training sessions without any problems. Besides the excellent performance, the chrono has a definite flash appeal not matched by many other frames.

Didn't Dan write a fairly strong review of the Chrono in a triathlon rag about 9-12 mos ago? I also thought he mentioned that Orbea would customize your frame for about $200.

I am in the Kentucky in the USA. I had heard they frames where difficult to find, but when I talked to the folks in Arkansas at the company they said they could have one to me in a month.

Yes, they do custom build frames for $200 and it takes about 8 weeks to get one.
