The one thing Democrats and Republicans agree on

Spending! It's amazing how much pork they sneak in, deficits be damned.

Federal spending is out of control, but Congress can't seem to restrain itself from funding new pork-barrel projects.

Earmarks, the way Congress doles out pork, may top 11,000 this year--a new record.

Appropriators say that the 2005 spending bills are "lean and clean," but Brian Riedl and Keith Miller found over 100 projects in this week's omnibus spending bill that just shouldn't be there.

Among them:

* $450,000 for the Baseball Hall of Fame
* $350,000 for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
* $347,000 for grapefruit juice research
