Bush Says His Party Is Wrong to Oppose Gay Civil Unions
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/26/politics/campaign/26gay.html
I can't believe this.
Why can't you believe it?
Typical NY Times article with a dig at the reasons behind Bush's position at the end. Gee, do you think the reporter might have at least considered that those were Bush's beliefs because he thought they were right rather than politically convenient?
This isn't particularly surprising... his views were known well before this.

J's right. He was on that O'Reilly interview earlier in the month saying the same thing. He said he's opposed to the traditional use of marriage, not civil unions.
I think the Times is just being mischievious with something that's fairly common knowledge among Republicans. Same as with the "missing" 380 tons of explosives, which NBC said last night was already gone when our troops got to the ammo dump back in '03.
Trying to sway the election, which is alright with me, as that's what newspapers are supposed to do. Just don't outright lie about anything, is all I ask.
gotta agree. this seems to be one where there's not a lot of difference between Kerry and Bush. both have said they don't favor gay marriage, but believe in civil unions.
