Just wondering what folks are using for St Croix. Road bike with drop bars and clip on aerobars or short jammer-like bars? Full on tri bike with steep angles and pursuit bars? I can't make a decision. Thinking about just going with the tri bike 'cuz from what I understand other than the "beast" it's just a hilly ride with some turns and the average speed is still high.

I did the race twice when it was the shorter version and I have to agree with the tri-bike setup. Like you said other than the beast the rest is rolling and there are quite a few flat windy sections.
