I don't see a problem with the ad. The ad is factual and informative. The USOC has alot of bigger problems it needs to deal with....namely the rampant doping problem in these games.

I have seen the ad. I dont understand why they didnt show the actual Iraqi and Afghani athletes. The ad shows a bunch of caucasian swimmers.

The problem is that the Olympics is not an American event, and they're not supposed to be politicised. Also, the Bush/Cheney campaign has no legal right to use images or Olympic terms without the USOC's permission.

They could use the Athletes images with the approval of the atletes. The USOC doesnt own the athletes likeness. I have heard that the Iraqis werent happy with the ad. I guess they couldnt convince the Afgan athletes to give them permission either.

It's just too bad Al Gore isn't President or that Iraqi soccer team would be getting tortured by Saddam's sons like it should be and that Afghan women would be locked in her home, in a burka, preganant and surely not in the Olympics. How dare President Bush take the credit for freeing tens of millions from the tyranny to which they should still be subjected?

Yeah I agree, but the ad mentions the "Olympics" which is a term the USOC has rights to, and it can't be used without their permission, especially for political purposes.

Only when he takes credit for all the innocent people killed by stray bombs, insurgents, and crossfires we instigated. Oh and those who were tortured as well.

Anyone US military personnel that have been accused of torture will be tried for their alleged crimes. Anyone torturing people on behalf of Saddam or the Taliban was doing their job and was rewarded for doing so. Can you tell the difference? Do you care?

Do you think that more or less torture went on in either country before the US overthrew the prior regimes? Do you think that more innocents were killed (a) accidentally by US actions or (b) intentionally by Saddam and the Taliban? Do you recognize the difference between intentional and accidental conduct? How many were starving to death in Iraq while Saddam, Kofi Annon's son and the French, German and Russian leadership were pocketing tens of billions from the so called oil for food program? Or don't you care about any of these things?

Why would the deaths of innocents at the hands of terrorists (not insurgents) be the moral responsibility of the Bush administration and not the terrorists? Wait, I know, it's Bush's fault because he lied.
