Speedplay and shoes
I am getting a pair of speedplay. what shoes are compatible with these? I had the feeling that they
require the same insert as look on carnac shoes
(maybe wrong though) and therefore any look compatible shoe will work with carnaca?

(specifically, I am looking at diadora).

Hey, guy! How you been?

Speedplays work the very best on Time shoes or Time inserts on shoes that take inserts (like Northwaves). Time's cleat interface is flat, like the Speedplays. Speedplays come with curved shims so that they can also be used with Look compatible shoes.

Speedplays work very well on any shoe that takes a Look cleat. Stay away from Diadora compatible setups.

I have Nike Poggios (Look compatible setup) and the Speedplay Zeroes work perfectly. Read the directions carefully. Most important to get the bottom of the cleat FLAT. The shims that come with the pedals are the key to this.

Good luck!

A big part of the reason I am staying with Sidi is becasue they work so well with Speedplay since that is what I think I am going to use. Sidi also fits me great.

I have found that the Speedplay cleat works very well on Carnacs without any adapter at all. Just bolt the cleat right onto the sole of the shoe without that big adapter plate.
