Talking about the CA fires
Already a thread in the LV room, but I thought I would post this up as many of you may know this guy, especially if you follow or are a masters swimmer. He is probably the greatest male master swimmer of all time, check out his news interview while his house burns to the ground.

I found it refreshing that someone could keep their composure under the circumstances, understand the hysteria from people, but in my job you had to be calm under severe duress.

Damn. That is awful. So many fires this year. I've run out fingers to count the number of people I know who lost homes this year. It is December. It isn't supposed to be fire season.

One of the great Masters swimmers! Lots of Ventura triathletes also in a tough time with the fires. It really hits home when it affects those you know.
Hoping tonight's winds do not bring any more devastation.

We were all talking about it at this morning's swim. How sad. There are some other swimmers up there that Lynn is trying to track down. Some evacuated, one suffering only a power outage and a couple that nobody has heard from yet. I don't know if you know John Chung or Jim Neitz. I don't know them, but others in our group do and are worried.

Jim Neitz also lost his home. It was posted on the Ventura Deep Six Relay Team Facebook page. They didn't mention John, which hopefully means his home is still standing. My heart goes out to all my Ventura/Ojai friends. It's just horrible. I'm in Newbury Park, 20 miles away, but we can see the flames from our house as if the fire is just across the freeway. It's huge.

But don't worry, global warming is a hoax made up by the Chinese and the violent hurricanes in the southeast US and cycles of extreme summer heat in California leading to inflammable power kegs of dry tinder on the ground are just normal weather variations that we have nothing to do with.
