What a great honor, like being the 1 out of a 1000 that gets hit with seagull poop...Did you see any others getting poked?

I would love to have them knock at my door and say they are doing an out of competition drug test. If would be a great honor, even if it is seagull poop :)

Like Dan said - a list of numbers. Was in a room set up as waiting area before we went into the separate room for testing. Testing room had 3 or 4 areas separated by curtains. Looked like they were all full.

Thanks - should be a fun race!
On the blood quantity, I believe the vial size was 4mL, and the tester filled (2) of the vials approximately 75% full.

It's a good start, but you'd like to think that any savvy miscreant would have made sure their 'system' was clean by race week.

Now - this is going to sound ignorant I would imagine - as a younger guy who only takes B vitamin..
but if you were an older gent - and have a prescription due to "low T" to boost your levels...even if you got caught with elevated T levels - wouldnt it be allowed due to the script? Or do you have to have a normal range of it and not elevated, script or not.
Enlighten me someone?

I think there's another thread on Testosterone TUEs :-) Put me in the 'if you have to take T for medical reasons, then you shouldn't be competing', camp.

A doctors prescription or even a note from your dr saying you need it is not enough. If you test positive, it will stay a positive test even with a script.
You need to file for a TUE ahead of time (not after the test) to be granted an exception by WADA/USADA.

This is not allowed, even when prescribed. If you were a man born without testicles you could get a TUE for T, but otherwise simply taking prescribed T is a doping violation

My understanding of the taking Testosterone and applying for a TUE process is that it's extremely difficult to get a TUE.
Read just about impossible.

Yes that's my understanding as well. They won't grant you a TUE just because you have a dr's note or prescription. I was just stating the process if one wants to take T and do it by the rules.

Hello owbac86 and All,
"On the blood quantity, I believe the vial size was 4mL, and the tester filled (2) of the vials approximately 75% full."
Sounds like about 6ml total draw .... with rough estimate of total body blood at 5 liters (7% of body weight is closer) looks like only a loss of 0.12% of your blood and that probably would have no measurable effect on your performance.
I was thinking about when cheaper 1 drop testing is available with results in 5 minutes ..... many more athletes could be tested much quicker and conveniently.
Cheers, Neal

And this question is coming from someone on the forum!
Can you imagine the number of people out there that think its ok (and are doing it) because they have a note from their doctor?
Here as a volunteer and was at registration Tuesday, there was a lot of age groupers/pros escorted to drug testing. Some didn't look happy about it. Great to see this happening.
