Last weekend I went to the Huntington Folk Festival and I can tell you that protest songs are alive and well but they're mostly kind of wimpy. These young people have a lot to learn.

So I thought I would go to the master; Phil Ochs and revive one of his songs; ''Here's to the State of Richard Nixon''. He originally wrote it as ''Here's to the State of Mississippi'' during the civil rights movement and revised it during the Nixon days.

So I went to YouTube and found that I wasn't the first to think of this;

I'll bet that Phil Ochs would be thrilled to see what's been done with his song. I especially like the one that gives a verse to the different members of the Trump administration.


So far I've come up with two verses (thank you to the person who posted the tweet about Scaramucci);

Anyone who rhymes Sweeney with Weinee will get kick out. I haven't heard that one since third grade!
