Must Do's While In Tremblant
Coming down pretty early before IMMT and will have my 73 yr old mom and aunt along with my 20 something yr old kids and their BF and GF's so will be looking to do some fun things. Looks like there's lots to do. For those that have been there and done some of them either recommend or can tell me to pass on some of them would be most appreciated. Couple of things they are wanting to do. Rock climbing, Zip Lining, Golf, Casino, Fishing Charter. Maybe some hiking and mountain Biking. Any other ideas or suggestions?? Thanks in advance. Steve

The zip line is more impressive than it looks from the ground. The 20 somethings will like it.

If you have a car that you can get dirty, and a spare afternoon, Parc Omega is under an hour away. It's like African Lion Safari, but with Canadian faunae.

The downhill go-karts (bobsleighs?) are fun for kids at heart, if a little expensive.

If anyone is into golf, there are several top notch courses (I don't know which ones, my parents play when we go down and love them)

Oh, and there are a few escape rooms. I hear the Olympics themed one is pretty good.

Close. They call it the luge. Agreed, fun for all ages.

I would second (or third) the zip line. We also did the ropes/tree top course and it was a fun afternoon. If you can leave the mountain, I would highly recommend the via ferrata at the National Park. It was terrific- beautiful views and a bit less "manufactured" nature than the zip line. It's similar to rock climbing but requires less technical skill.

Edited to add: i also hiked most of the trails on the mountain. Very challenging and bring bug spray. Lots of little flying things that bite.

The luge is definitely fun, for kids and adults. Also recommend taking the gondola up to the top for a great view. Depending on the hotel, they might give you passes for that. Also there's a fun mini-golf course in the center of the pedestrian village... you sort of have to walk beneath the 'cabriolet' (mini gondola) to get to it.

The luge is fun, but the thing I remember most about Tremblant is the hike with a guide and hawk. The hawk landed on our hands multiple times, and it was just very, very interesting. There is also a bird of prey thing at the top of the mountain that is really cool.

There is a provincial park close to Tremblant with some nice day hikes and gorgeous scenery. The rock concert on Friday night in the village put on by the Ironman folks is also pretty cool.

We just LOVE Mont Tremblant. It is an amazing area.

There is great hiking in Mont Tremblant National Park. Several short hikes and several longer, more difficult ones. We loved it.

The luge is a blast. My 72 year old dad did it and loved it.

So much shopping and eating in the area too. You really won't have a hard time finding things to do. I want to go back!

My kids and I are really interested in doing the via ferrata. Truly looks like an awesome experience. Ill be in MT on tuesday and want to do it wednesday with them. Just wanna make sure it's not too crazy strenuous as too not take too much out of me for race day?? Thanks for the tip. Watched some you tube videos on it and it looks beautiful, if a little scary!! lol. Steve

It is not very strenuous at all for someone in reasonable shape. It is light to moderate hiking with lots of ladder climbing and some easy hand holds. I did it with a hand/arm that has been in a cast for 10 weeks up until 2 weeks before and was easily able to complete the routes. The fact that is is more ladder climbing is why we chose the via ferrata over rock climbing. I would have no hesitation doing it again a few days before race day. Just make sure you have water and snacks so you stay on top of hydration/fueling.

And you are correct! It is beautiful and a little scary at times. I just had to keep telling myself to trust the equipment. The via ferrata was highlight of my trip to MT.
