That's a pretty big claim. If true and the product is $350, it would seem worthwhile, especially for TT.

I think the summary goes a bit like this - the servo motor is probably just like the ones in other electronic shifters, so it gets a signal and pulls. We all know that "just works" and works pretty great. But instead of being mounted right on the levers that move the pulleys left or right, you just attach your existing cable to the motor. Since the cable is only a few inches long, you get little or no cable stretch or gunked up cable housing, basically the same performance as regular electronic shifting. You can "tune" it with the app, and also I'm guessing you can tune it with the barrel adjuster on the fly.

Sounds great with road and tri. With mountain biking, I know my most annoying performance limiter is shifting. Cables get gunked up pretty fast if you ride in dirt a lot.

I'm a little sceptical of July 2017 delivery if the parts they're showing off at Sea Otter are 3D printed (which they appear to be to me, though I could be wrong there).

Not even a pre-production sample. In my experience, there are *always* issues with production. I'd have thought they'd have budgeted 6 months of lab and real-world testing with the anticipated final product before announcing a release date.

True. I predict those problems and software glitches and waterproofing issues. Theory sounds great, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

"Now on a serious note: COPYCATS! We all expected there would be those that attempt to copy XShifter. Well, they already are. There is currently a Kickstarter campaign with a very similar but crude product. However that campaign failed miserably. There is also a Youtube video of a copy of XShifter circulating. Its from a company based in California. This one is rather brazen. The guys behind it actually asked me for technical specs of XShifter during the marketing campaign. The device appears to be in very early prototype stage. Doesn't even appear to be functional, possibly a faked video. Yet they are claiming a June delivery. " :-)

Looks like it is still not for sale? Hard to tell with so much going on on that site.
