Happy 4/20 Day from CO

It's supposed to rain around noon here today, that might dampen the celebrations a bit.

Colorado is taxing the shit out of that "freedom".

Me, nothing. Just another day at the salt mine.

Yeah, I noticed on my last couple of runs downtown the annual migration of lowlifes has started to return. Went out 20th street and past Cuernavaca Park and the homeless 20 somethings have returned. Downtown Denver has turned into a pit and I avoid the mall at all cost.

The state continues to enjoy the tax revenue but over the next few years and additional legalization in other states, the price of pot will be like cigarettes and all that tax revenue will be less than half it is today.

I'm wearing a Jerry Garcia tie today; if that counts for anything?

A few years back I read an article that CU spread a fish based fertilizer on an area where students congregated on 4/20 in hopes that the bad smell would keep people away. I don't recall any follow up about whether it helped or just sent stoned people to the nearest Long John Silvers.

This isn't CU, but another CO college:

Colorado is taxing the shit out of that "freedom".

Colorado also taxes the shit out of alcohol, as does every other state and the rest of the world. Yes, people that live in legal states enjoy the "freedom" of having legal weed endure taxes associated with not having to commit a crime to enjoy a recreational drug.

Most folks choose not to make their own alcohol or enter the black market for untaxed booze to avoid taxes.

Happy 420 everyone!
