Quote | Reply
This just started on Saturday - an unsupported bike race across the Australian continent, west to east. Here's the links to the home page/blog and tracker. Its already pretty epic.
(Apologies if I missed someone else's earlier post - couldn't see anything though)

Those guys are machines. Wonder if Hall had a menchanical early -the gap seemed to open very early.
Kudos to anyone who is giving this a try though. A kind of ultimate slow twitch test.

Kristof is at 1690km and Mike is 141km behind now. I checked a couple hours ago and it looked like Mike was 160 behind, Kristof must have stopped for a rest.

From watch a live stream or reading a facebook comment (don't remember which) but Mike had a problem with one of his legs not feeling very good.

Thanks. Just checked the Facebook page too, seems Kristoff had a rest and Mike has made up a lot of ground. Sara Hammond is coming into the picture as well.

I'm watching the Cycling Maven as he makes his way East. He post Vlogs most days and is worth watching.

Here's the latest one from day 6;

I first heard of Mike Hall watching the "Inspired to Ride" documentary on Netflix. It's not confirmed yet but ...

RIP.

I suspect that the only reason it hasn't been confirmed is that the proper channels need to be followed before they can release names.

Initially I wondered whether he had witnessed the accident and then stopped to help. Unfortunately his tracker was clocked at 100kph a little while ago so it's almost certain it was him, sad times.
