Great write ups!!! I hope I can contribute with some useful stuff
Brakes issue resolved :-)
Got the TM01 frame just a few days ago and while waiting for the Di2 6870 pieces I slowly started putting things together
The brakes indeed would not allow for installation of anything with a wider profile. It did not take much time to discover that these were the damn pad fastening bolts that limited the outward movement of the calipers - these things were just humongous (though about filing them or removing all together but having some time available I started poking around).
Option 1 - replacing the pad holders with spare SRAM RED ones almost did the trick but the Super-9 would have only about 1mm clearance with super old and thin pads. Super-9 is super stiff but the brakes would engage with the slightest touch of the brake levers - not good enough.
It's great to have n+1 bikes and a quick scan through them pointed me to the ULTIMATE option 2 as in the name - Avid Shorty Ultimate. Here the pads are not fastened by the bolts pointing towards the fork\seatstays (or chainstays as in the TM01 case) but rather in the perpendicular direction as in the pix below (they work with standard brake pads)
The ultimate clearance. I used only Shorty's holder casing and the rest of the original TM01 pieces. I am still using slightly used pads (Reynolds Cryo blue) and now all wide rims fit with no issue. Pixs below with new '14 Rold Prima Ares6 (27mm wide Delta Profile) front and with no front wheel
Cheers
