Anyone have any exierence with these ? Looks like they have a EE width. A biggie for us duck feet people wanting a light race flat. So are "their EE" really wide?
Also aimed at jack.
jack asumming everything is the same will a 5'9" 155lbs. person who runs a 20:06 5k be able to run a 19:59 5k if he takes 2.3 ounces off of his running shoe

Haven't had experience with that particular shoe, but I bought a pair of their new Trail 110s in a 2E and the last was still too narrow for me. I wear other NB shoes in a 2E and they fit great, but not all NB wide shoes are created equally.

I have the minimus and I hated using them in races. They seem to cut the tongue short and trying to slip your feet into them even with body glide the tongue would push down and it would take a few seconds to get that situated. I loved that shoe other than the tongue issue.

That is what i was thinking especially after i saw the vibram logo on them. Guess it is not a internet buy until i try them on at our local overpriced princeton running company.

I have the trail, road, and walking ones. I love them. I jumped in last year with the trail models, then picked up the road ones in June for marathon training and racing. I like the low drop and light weight. The trail ones feel like socks. I've worn the MW10's every day since March, they are great shoes and super comfortable.

I have narrow feet, the normal widths fit my feet perfectly. FYI I am 6'1" 145lbs, 19:07 5K 3:19 marathon.

Also if you're just trying to smoke a 5k, racing flats work too. That being said, the minimus roads are pretty much flats with a bit more rubber on the sole.

Normal shoe is...? That'll dictate whether the weight savings will be offset by the inefficiencies of your gait, or if there's going to be true correlation between effort and weight reduction.

That said, I find the Minimus platform too narrow underfoot to be of benefit to truly wider width feet, even in the wide. Even though I'm technically closer to a narrow, the platform underfoot is so narrow that my foot overhangs, and exaggerates some extra motion in my feet.

Also, is PRC priced above MSRP, or at it? Only reason I ask is b/c lots of online retailers are getting into trouble for violating MAP and you're starting to see places like Runner's Warehouse come up a bit in price.

I have wide feet at the ball and narrow heels. I love the way the shoe fits, it feels like a slipper to me. Just hate the tongue issue. Nothing to grab on to when your trying to put them on quickly. I didnt realize that till I tried to race in them.

One option to look in to may be the New Balance 730. People find them very comparable to the minimus in the last, they are cheaper, and they are at bigger non-running specific stores like sports authority, etc. They also come in wider sizes like the minimus.

I saw them this weekend at the mall for $50, was impressed so I started googling them.

If this is your only issue with the minimum you should like the Inov8 Bare-X 150 (check my blog for a short review).
No issue with the tongue at all, and a very similar fit to the NB (I have both pairs).

I got a pr. of the minimus trails as they actually fit pretty good and seemed like they had a little more protection under neath. Only walked in them for about a hour ran for 7 minutes one day and did a mile and a half . They seem ok and i am easing my feet into them so i dont injure anything. I have been in asics 2160's for the longest so i dont want to rush anything. Foot seems to want to roll a bit so hoping that will change. Body also seems to be leaning a bit forword as i am striking more midfoot. Guess that is good.

Just took this shoe (zero trail) on their first long run, and they feel way better than fivefingers and merrell.

As for the tongue, I kind of wish it was situated better. If I do end up racing in them, I'll probably set them up in transition like this (maybe put my sunscreen inside of them? they're so light it seem like the wind would seriously knock them over if it's windy):

@Bmanners same problem here, super wide duck feet, high arch, been looking for a pair of Minimus for a while because I like the style and wanted to go barefoot. Turns out the new Trail Zeros came in 4E this year. I tried em on and the 4E is a legit 4E - nice and wide, no narrowing at the outside like with previous Minimi. They fit a little big though - I'm normally a 10 and the 9.5 fit real nice. Still prefer the style of the old MT10s but they don't fit due to width. :(

I have used mine a bit and will revisit them in the off season. Two weeks ago my calves were so sore it was hard to get my weeks run in. Not really the time to experiment so close to race season.

I have the first generation Minimus Road in 2E width... and I don't have wide feet. But I do have decent toe splay, so I want the toe room.

When I tried on the Minimus Zero Road in 2E, it felt narrow. They do have a 4E width, but I didn't get a chance to try that one on.
