I saw Crowie cross the finish line today. man he's fast, even in the last km's! (his first km off the bike was around 3:40. I've never run that full stop!!

Jason Shortis was really awesome. Saw him walking after his race today, so I called to him and he stopped for about 5 min for a chat.
Its great to see the big guns aren't too big for us little guys :)

Cheers

This is news? As far as I know he "rocks an aero lid" in every race he does...bar one.

This is one of those things that sounds good and probably should be done, and I would agree with, but to do it and really do it right, I am guessing is almost impossible!

We still don't have a all under one umbrella, comprehensive program for testing Professional Triathetes. Why don't we work on that first, before we start testing athletes that are doing something that is more or less a hobby.

x4, and I don't care if it's not perfect at first. Better yet is to do it at the qualifiers. Gotta pay your money, pee in the cup, and if you turn out to be a cheat they should give you a lifetime ban from Kona and keep your money. Cheating in a AG race has to be one of the lamest things imaginable in sports.

Testing at Kona is too late, since by that time they have already denied a clean athlete a slot at Kona. Is it not better to test at qualifiers and so offer the place to another athlete if they fail a test.

I would much rather the WTC or what ever national fed paid for that drug testing to put that money into out of comp testing of more pros.

I couldn't care less if AGers are taking drugs and would rather triathlon catch cheating pros.

Ironman has tested age-groupers in the previous two Konas.

As posted above it's not a first. I was tested first time as an age-grouper in 2001 after an age-group win over the ironman distance and again in 2007 over the ironman distance...

are you saying you'd rather pay for more AG testing and less PRO testing?

It's easier for slower age groupers to think the faster age groupers are using PED's than facing the harsh reality that the reason they're not at the pointy end of the age group field and/or qualifying for Kona is because they're just not good enough.

I know it's elitist but with another foot of snow bearing down on my position, I'm feeling spicy and since I can't punch Mother Nature in the dick... ;^)

This is money that should be spent on testing pro's out of competition. If there's a drug problem in this sport, that's where it is.

I feel there needs to be testing for pros and AG alike unfortunantly
that would jack up already high event prices. As far as "slow AGers"
having sour grapes I agree some do but when a 55yo runs a 3:00
marathon in Kona(2004) there is something going wrong. Thats not
sour grapes that is fact. I disagree with pros using but I understand
because it is their living and as pointed out AG for the most part
do this as a hobby and so why should it be tolerated by them.

I said it clearly the first two times, but apparently you still struggle with basic reading.

YES

I don't give a rat's ass about the pro's. This is primarily an age group sport that people put an enormous amount of time into in order to be good. To those AG competing at the top levels, they deserve a fair race. To suggest that there isn't doping taking place in AG races is one of the funniest things I've read on here in a while. Is it rampant? Probably not, but when there are only 1-3 slots open at each qualifier in the older age groups, just having one dirty athlete is more than significant.

Is that simple enough for you?
