Basically on schedule this far into it, but because I really need biking more than running, I also signed up for the 31 hours in 31 days challenge. Looking at my log, about 18 hours is the most I've done before of cycling in a month. And will be interesting to see if I can do 47 hours of total training in January - that would be close to 10 hours more than I've ever managed before. I might have done 38 hours about a decade ago when I was only running.
One good thing is that riding on the windtrainer for the first time the past couple weeks, I'm finding I can more easily avoid going too hard. Just set a book on the end of my aerobars and I'm good with a nice 70-75% HR. Of course, I live In Florida, so I don't really NEED the wind-trainer, but it is handy when I have childcare duty or it is dark out - riding in the dark here would pretty literally be suicide.
Once you arrive at the race, deposit your excuses in the same location as last night's pasta.
