I think the only points based Challenges were the April Du Nationals Challenge and the June Steve Larsen Challenge.

Jordan, we should have a March-April get your ass in gear for Du Nationals/American Zofingen/Wildflower/St. Croix challenge covering 6 weeks :-)

I just joined the challenge. I actually expect to do around 70 days, but no harm in joining.

Once you arrive at the race, deposit your excuses in the same location as last night's pasta.

You should! DD is going to need some pre Wildflower ass kicking so he can crush dreams on the course.

Got in a slow trail run tonight with a new running partner. Learned a lesson in being too trusting just because we work at the same company. No threat but it did get weird when he was talking about his psychological problems and not being able to afford meds. Dude's life is a wreck. I must remember Mace when I run.

Ha! That'll pick up your average pace.

P.S. Forget the mace, go straight for the Pepper Spray. My sister carries this stuff that is like naplam in that it sticks to you and dyes your face florescent pink.

I'm on a mission for Wildflower this year. I'm treating this as my spring "A" event and will then work towards a second set of "A" events in the late summer/fall (likely Esprit Half IM or Timberman). I'm going to actually pass up some XC ski training so as to arrive at Wildflower with proper bike fitness, although last nite I was eyeing an XC ski race in France (if only I had infinite vacation time). Run should hopefully be there. Swim will need some work in Mar/Apr.

Nice run this morning snowing outside did 6.45 miles .05 was walking.. LOL Will hit 54 miles today with 2nd run today by end of week it should be around 75 miles total for first week !! Most i have ever done in a week has been 62 miles and that was with 2 or three long slow runs. Suprisingly to me doing the 6 mile and change run in morning and the 4 and change run in the evening my legs feel fresh. The bit advice you had given me let my legs recoup very well. Upper legs were pretty sore on less mileage but now feel great. Go figure... I might back off a bit next week after I feel out legs and see how they feel . If it is the same I see no reason now to back off other then time restraints with the holiday's.

I gotta say, this is my first Running Challenge and I am extremely impressed with some of the numbers going up this first week. I knew I was nowhere near the level of some of you on here--30 miles a week isn't gonna win much--but some of you guys are doing some insane volume...who the hell does 10 runs in 5 days?!? Well done, I can't wait to see how this looks in 90+ days.

With Boston and Triple-T Ohio looming, it's the kick in the pants I need to get it going again. Me and my dog are in!

I feel the same way... regarding the dog.
She drags me out the door for a run everyday anyway.

My 1.5yr old lab, Gunner, is the perfect training partner. He's always ready and brings tons of positive energy to the workout. The 14 inches of snow in the NC mountains were fun for us yesterday. Only managed a snowshoe hike for me but he was trashed after a few hours of bounding through the white stuff. Hopefully they've scraped the road and we can put on the snow spikes and double up today.

This snow threw me off track, although if it hadn't snowed I'd have been coaching for 14 hours a day all weekend which also would have cut into my running. Oh well I have been averaging 30 miles a week before the challenge started. And my fiancee just informed me that her parents have a treadmill in the basement so I know where I will be before Sunday dinner and maybe afterwards.

Man, I was soooo looking forward to the 100-100 challenge this year (seriously). Still battling hip bursitis, though. Going to try and do 15 to 20 minutes on my treadmill and see how it holds up. So far, my record is 12 minutes without pain....woo-hoo. Slowly, slowly trying to come back.

I was having so... so... much fun but..... I really am getting tired of doing laundry. Maybe I can get a discount on a 100 Zoot running shirts from the seller on St classified. Well 88 shirts now wait my bad, just threw in another load of laundry with 10 sweat wicking work out shirts in it. So...... lets say 77 shirts since I need to save a bit of money for a rear race wheel. I am in the 60's for miles now and should get into the 70's tommorow for first week which also gives me MY first EVER 70 mile week. But all I can think of now as I get near my goal is 100 is like only 25 miles away . How can I up the mileage to make that doable. Okay I am headed out the door to see a shrink. Guess I will run there. LOL

I hear ya. After my long run this morning I went by the Running Center and picked up a new pair of shoes and figured I'd better add another pair of shorts and a 3 pack of socks.

I just skip the shirt and let the big ole belly hang out there. Of course you gotta be tough to do that here ;)

I took one last Monday, and only ran 4 miles (once) on Friday. That's two easy days in one week!
I still have another run to do this afternoon, once the Chargers finish kicking Cincy's butt.

Christmas is going to throw a bit of a wrench in things. Girlfriend and I are doing a Christmas eve/day spa thing in San Diego. Will be lucky to get one run in each of those days.
