Reynolds Assault - something rattling in the rim
Quote | Reply
I bought a Canyon last September, and after about 3 months a rattling developed in the rear Reynolds Assault rim, at low speeds and when I stopped. I've made a hole in the rim tape at a spoke hole, but can't see the offending object or get it out. I assume it's a bit of (non-structural) resin that's come loose. Any ideas how I can remedy this, as it is a bit annoying so early in the life of an expensive bike.

Must be a Reynolds thing. I got a new pair of 80's last fall and on the rear had the same issue. Removed the rim tape and after slowly spinning the wheel to find it, had to fish out a piece of debris. Took me longer to remount the tube and tire than get it out...Good luck

I'll remove all the rim tape and try again, although it seems too big to fall out. If I have no luck, I'll save something from being kicked or thrown, and take it to the LBS :)
