Hawks are going with their backup goalie tonight.

Starter against the Canadiens.

So throwing the backup to the wolves and let the starter shut out the hapless Habs.

We're still going to make the playoffs, but we have to fix the D if we want to contend for a Cup.

Talk about total domination, should have never gone to OT but Forsberg stood on his head and we had a D breakdown on the first and they got a lucky bounce on the 3rd goal. No matter though #34 comes through and we are 3 and 0 out of the gate. Outstanding!!

Busy with Thanksgiving. Real thanksgiving.

Sometimes stats are seriously misleading. Hawks have scored 18 goals given up 6. One would think they are 3-0.

Weak sauce. The Buds just shredded your team. Kane was -25 5 on 5 Corsi tonight.

5 shots for. 30 against. Holy shit.

On the flip side, Matthews was 20 for, 3 against.

You guys are lucky you got a point.

ETA... That should read shot attempts, not shots.

Ho hum. Another game, another ridiculous OT winner for Matthews.

If you haven’t watched the highlights go watch his two goals from last night. Both were amazing.

Matthews > McDavid.

Yeah, I said it.

McDavid's rush/assist last night was unbelievable, like something out of a video game:

Right up there with this:

It's been discussed here before but worth repeating, so much good young fun-to-watch talent in the league right now between McDavid, Mathews/Marner/Nylander, Clayton Keller, Pastrnak (both of them with highlight reel goals last night). More please!

Brad Marchand either loves Matthews or (more likely) is trolling over the excessive media about Auston Matthews.

Today on the twitter:

"At what point do that @MapleLeafs have to start playing Matthews 1 vs 5 to make it fair for the other teams??"

Matthews > McDavid.

I think all that time your spending planning the parade route is clouding your judgement.

Possibly. I probably need to watch McDavid more but in the games I've watched where he's playing when he isn't scoring he's largely invisible.

I just find that Matthews does more away from the puck. I wouldn't trade Matthews for McJesus.

Fun fact:

Matthews has more points this year thus far. Ok, big deal right?

Matthews has started 37.3% of his shifts in the offensive zone so far this year.

McJesus has started 54.8% of his shifts in the offensive zone so far this year.

I think they are going to turn into a similar debate from 30 years ago: Gretzky or Lemieux? Can't go wrong with either and they both make the game better.

Wrong.

There is only one right answer. Matthews.

And Gretzky.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Leafs outplayed them bigly.

Bad luck.

Sad.

Markstrom stood on his head, defiantly stole one for the Canucks, shit happens. Still tied for 4th in the league. GO LEAFS!! :))

I just moved from Vancouver to Port Elgin, Ontario and so of course, the Canucks beat the Leafs.

I've never lived in a province when the pro hockey team there won the Stanley Cup. I'm starting to think I'm the problem.
