I didn't read all the responses but I'm curious if you drink coffee or have any caffeine before these episodes? I have a theory that under normal circumstances (Caffeine + swim in the morning) doesn't really affect most, but in race situations (Coffee+ wetsuit+ RACE swim + anxiety) the combination makes some experience issues as you've described. What do you think about this?

What do you think about this?Yeah I'm sure it doesn't help. I do normally have a coffee on race day, which normally just adds to my jitters. So might be worth avoiding this time around?
