No. Firecrest and all-carbon clinchers were started at the same time. From the zipp timeline:
Launch all carbon clinchers for the first time with new Firecrest rim shape. This shape is faster and easier to handle in cross-winds - it captures air at the wheel trailing edge. 404 CCL introduced in April, 808 CCL in October. Firecrest tubular wheels introduced in November (808) and December (404).
