The price point for these glasses isn't unreasonable IF they the product is of quality. Only "issue" right now no is they are new and most won't fork over that kind of coin for the unknown. Some will, just not many. As soon as a reputation grows (if good), so will the sales numbers.

I have a HUGE sunglass collection from pretty much every expensive maker. I have quite a few cheapos as well. If Roka actually produces a product that can handle the run (it's tough, as it has to grip nicely with the varying head sizes of people, plus the rubber/silicone needs to be top notch to not slip) then they'll definitely find a market. I don't own a pair of aviators yet, may add these to the collect to see. Not in any rush, but for the quality of products Roka has put out so far this price point isn't obscene...just not as "friendly" as many would like.

Went with the aviators. I think they'll be the most delicate/hardest to get right. If they can make a sturdy think framed metal piece, then they've got my vote. Plus, I have a shit pile of Goodr sunglasses that fit the Kona criteria.

Can anyone who has purchased comment on your glasses and whether you've found them worth the price?

I just bought the Phatom's for my girlfriend, who actually wanted them for leisure. She's not a triathlete and barely runs. She just wanted them because they wouldn't slide down her nose.

Anyway, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the $300 price point but the glasses are definitely top notch. Not just a little better than Ray Bans... like a whole fucking world ahead of typical aviators. The lenses are insanely nice. She got the gold version (polarized - which we both hate) but the vision (not including the stupid polarized factor) is awesome. They are light but nothing different than typical aviators. And the grips really do work, they make the glasses more comfortable than Ray Bans and don't ruin the classic look. And they didn't slide while running.

I really can't comment yet on whether or not they are worth $300. I think that'll come in a year or two pending how they've held up, etc. If they do hold up, definitely worth the price. If they don't.... ugh (eye roll).

I too got the Phantoms. I'll echo what was said: they are nice. I won't say they are worth the price tag (as its at the very top of the market), but I'll also say they are built well and seem to be of very good quality. Again, we'll see how they hold up: scratch? Bend? Slip? Fog? Etc...

Bought the wife the Vendee model after she lost a pair she had that look almost identical to these, except her old pair was like $500. She absolutely loves the Vendee, even as someone who will probably never wear them on a run or being active like that.

Are these bike friendly, I.e., do they block the wind?

I was watching ironman coverage while I was sitting on the trainer, and I was watching the Lanzarote coverage where Jesse Thomas won. As he crossed the finish line, he got called out for "wearing his super expensive sunglasses".

The clip is here:
