The last time I swam in my Xterra Vortex, I noticed that the suit seemed to fit fine everywhere but was loose in the calves in the water. This doesn't seem to be a good thing. I'm in a medium and haven't really lost weight, so I'm not sure if I'm in need of an upgrade to a new suit? I noticed it when it was used in a practice swim in the pool.

Definitely need calf implants. Might be cheaper than a new wetsuit ^^; Sorry I don't have any useful insight to your problem... I have not experienced this issue before.

It shouldn’t make much if any of a difference. You’re not kicking much in a triathlon and extra wetsuit material in your legs will help you float more.
Why don’t you think it is a good thing?

Move your cleats forward on your bike shoes and ride more.

It sounds like an uncommon problem. The fit doesn’t seem as good as it used to be. Maybe I need to eat more burgers this off season. Lol. I know I’m not a small so that’s really not an option.

I know I’m not a small so that’s really not an option. That's strange, even a large wetsuit should be reasonably tight on the calves. What height, weight are you? Have you trimmed the legs at all. I don't have mine as high as this, but plenty do, so that could be a solution,

I’m 5’9” and 162lbs. Maybe cutting the legs mid calf might be something to consider. I’d have that athletic ITU look.

I am 5 10 198 I am in an XL. Yes the legs are loose a bit. I am not worried its not as bad as you would expect considering how skinny my legs are compared to my chest. As someone said it will help float and remember the other reason people wear a wetsuit is to keep warm. As long as it fits well around the neck it should keep cold water from circulating through it as you swim forward. I have the entry level Volt it has the legs cut in a capri length so it goes down mid calf already.

Yeah I reckon cut the calves, having them flapping around with water coming in is no good.
