Why are so many company's acting as activists...Hannity said he should be presumed innocent until proven guilt; isn't this the 6th amendment?

I get not liking Moore, or Hannity or Fox news but pulling your ad, over an accusation?

Pdotecting your brand image is not being an activist. Fox isnt entitled to advertisers money.

Also, hannity is a fucking moron and has been for a long time.

Smashing yourbkuerig in no way harms the company, you already gave them your money. It just makes you look stupid.

They advertise of Fox to market their product to sell more coffee makers...So your saying this is about market preservation? Really? Your smarter than this.

Lets get one thing straight, Keurig is NOT coffee. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.

Also, they make most of their money from selling the K-Cup pods. So smashing the machine and making real coffee will have a big effect on their ongoing revenue stream.

I understand it completely. They operate the same as printer companies. The machine is cheap as hell and the k cups cost a lot. Any fiscally smart person, as conservatives often tout themselves, would not be buying the expensive k cups. They would buy a cheap reusable one. Therefore, they arent giving the company any more $.

Does anyone have a quote of what Hannity said? One article said something like he said we should not rush to a conclusion on the Senator. Was there more that started this? That sounds like sound advice on any accusation.

And real coffee drinkers don't watch Hannity...

Where or when did Ray Moore say he even knew the 14 year old girl let alone had a sexual relationship with her?

But hey, you and the other fucking idiot are doing a pretty good job of making it sound like he admitted to something he has categorically denied.

But yeah, with him about to put another blow in the Washington Establishment machine, it's no surprise that both sides of the isle are attacking him and that these came to surface just prior to the election. Call me a skeptic.

How does one prove he didn't do something?

Thanks for confirming the answer. The point was that Hannity espoused the "consensual" defense, which 1) you said he didn't do and called those who said he did "fucking idiots" and 2) is an appalling misunderstanding of why it is wrong to have that kind of relationship with a 14 year old.

Of course, you then proceed to move the goalposts, as if whether he did it was at all involved in your claim.

No one on the show said Moore had a consensual relationship with a 14 year old.

As others have pointed out, a 14 year can not consent to sexual relations.

The discussion of consent was with regards to women he did see socially. Some who may have been 18 or 19 years old. You know, adults, be it young adults but adults.

As far as moving the goal posts, IDTS, I believe I was pretty clear about referring to the 14 year old about the consent, which is what Vagina was saying. But please provide one statement where Moore said he knew let alone had a consensual relationship with a 14 year old.

My understanding is that he clarified. That when using the term "consensual," he wasn't talking about the 14 year old. Only the 16 and 17 year olds. He's so misunderstood.

Guilty, I've been very sensitive about vegans, ever since one of the best meat ball with cheese sanwiches I've ever had was vegan and yes, I knew it was before I ate it. :) Vegas Nation Downtown, just east of LVB and a block south of Fremont St.

Had nothing to do with the 14 year old. It was a free standing paragraph, with no context but it did follow a paragraph where the 14 year old was referenced.

But hey, the timing on these allegations is pure confidence, right!

The timing of the allegations makes perfect sense. When people rise to power they are far more likely to be investigated, that's the way things go. You would expect for example, the the life of a factory worker wouldn't come under the same scrutiny as the President of the U.S. Moore is close to becoming a Senator, so investigations into his personal life including prior accusations and cover ups are going to come to light.

It does beg the question though and that is why on earth would you defend him?

For the opposite reason people like CrusVegas skewered Bill Clinton for the unproven (yet equally as believable and damning) assault allegations against him, save for the admitted affair with Lewinsky — convenient, tribal, brainless political stances where the party is more important than principle. It’s the same blah, blah, blah bullshit spewed from the bullhorn.

Vagina, made it sound like Moore admitted to having a consensual relationship with the 14 year old. That's not true and I was setting the record straight.

If the establishment democrats and the establishment republicans are against something, more than likely it's something good. If Moore did do something inappropriate with a 14 year old, I get in line right behind you.

If Moore did do something inappropriate with a 14 year old, I get in line right behind you.

If, huh?

I take it you're withholding judgement. Until when? What kind of evidence would you find convincing? Does he have to admit to it?

Curious... So you would vote for Roy Moore and think all these detailed allegations (a 5th came forward today) are simply a well-timed political hatchet job and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy?

Do you have a daughter?

No, I live in Nevada, I can't vote for him.

The timing of all these coming out do make me suspicious of their credibility.

I have no idea how nice or mean this guy is.

Not that I know of, not that it's any of your business.

Regardless of where people stand on this, that's a cheap shot. It's one that, if I recall correctly, CruseVegas has used on me when I questioned why people were so fixated on who uses which restroom. It was an inappropriate and misguided question then, and it is here.

Why is it a cheap shot? I'm genuinely curious how seemingly well educated people could dismiss the large body of evidence against Roy Moore as a political hatchet job. I would be even more surprised to learn that anyone doing so might have a daughter. We are all naturally more sensitive to things that we can relate too, like a father's protective instincts towards his daughter.

That surprises me, I've never had much interest in the gender bathroom thing. But it's not above me to do something just to stir the pot.

My apologies if I did. Very big of you to say this, thanks.

Not saying you are but I really hope people aren't dismissing the claims against Moore because the story was in the Washington Post. By all of the accounts I've read, they have done an excellent job in bringing the story out. If people come out and dismiss the story because it's in the Post, it will really be a poor reflection on where the country is right now.

I think the Republicans who are coming out against Moore based on the fair story published shows that a lot of people are able to put politics aside and call him out. It is refreshing to see.

I do wonder what it takes for people to actually admit that Moore should not only step down in his bid to be Senator, but he should be in jail.

I'm going totally non-political here.

Isn't this email by the Kuerig CEO the most vomit-inducing corporate lingo spew anyone's ever seen? I don't have a Keurig, but I'm about ready to go buy one then go Office Space on it after reading this pile of shit.

(emphasis mine on the bolded corporate-spew)

Quote:

You are likely aware that Keurig became the focus of some media attention over the weekend related to a tweet issued from our official Twitter account on Friday. The tweet announced the withdrawal of advertising from “Hannity” in response to comments made on his program last week that were viewed as controversial by many of our consumers. This is to provide you with full transparency on the situation, our lessons learned and our path forward.
Like most consumer-oriented companies, Keurig’s media purchases are driven by delivery of ratings for our target consumer audience. We also have a defined set of programming guidelines to ensure we deliver our advertising in the right programming environment and protect our brand from objectionable content.
The fact is, our consumer demographics match well with live news programming, which is why we advertise on nearly all cable news channels, ranging from MSNBC to Fox to CNN, all of which will continue. However, given the dynamic nature of news, we always need to evaluate that programming environment on a real-time basis.
The catalyst for the current situation was commentary made by Sean Hannity on his TV and radio programs last week, which sparked a significant number of consumer complaints directed to us as advertisers on his TV program. Hannity himself later apologized for his comments in his own tweet: “As I said on TV tonight, I apologize when I misspoke and was not totally clear earlier today.”
In most situations such as this one, we would “pause” our advertising on that particular program and reevaluate our go-forward strategy at a later date. That represents a prudent “business as usual” decision for us, as the protection of our brand is our foremost concern. However, the decision to publicly communicate our programming decision via our Twitter account was highly unusual. This gave the appearance of “taking sides” in an emotionally charged debate that escalated on Twitter and beyond over the weekend, which was not our intent.
I want you to know the decision to communicate our short-term media actions on Twitter was done outside of company protocols. Clearly, this is an unacceptable situation that requires an overhaul of our issues response and external communications policies and the introduction of safeguards to ensure this never happens again. Our company and brand reputations are too valuable to be put at risk in this manner.
The nature of social media and the internet news environment is that stories like this explode, and generally do not disappear quickly. Given the circumstances, we wanted to reach out and communicate with you directly so you understood our position and the protocols we have in place.
I apologize for any negativity that you have experienced as a result of this situation and assure you that we will learn and improve going forward. As we all know, the external environment is changing rapidly. We need to dial-up our speed and responsiveness to stay ahead of these developments and we will.

I’m a Boulder liberal and I try to avoid CNN too. It’s not that it’s fake news it’s just over the top headlines and everything written like there should be three exclamation points after it. I don’t need the extra drama. It reads like a tabloid.

I now try to give my traffic to CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, BBC and NYTimes.

The headline writers for both CNN and FOX seem to be heavily invested in anti anxiety med companies and use their jobs to pump their investments.

The old 3 network news organizations do seem to be much better sources right now than CNN/Fox/MSNBC.

I've noticed CNN has a lot of actual eye rolling and on purpose tsking and dismissive tone on a lot of things. Fox is full on 'well, what about' this unrelated topic or just completely ignores stories and acts like they haven't happened. And well, Chris Mathews, and even more so Maddow and the other guy who's name is escaping me right now are pretty obvious in their bias.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

I was watching CNN this morning and it showed the long drawn out introductions in the Sessions Congressional hearing. The introductions were nothing but hot air and it was going to take at least a full hour.

I turned the station to Al Jazeera and heard about the earthquake in Iran/Iraq, an in-depth look at the situation going on between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, an analysis of the involvement of Iran in Lebanon and Yemen, a story about Italy failing to qualify for the World Cup, a story about the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar a quick story about the latest Moore allegation and a note that Sessions was being questioned by Congress.

In other words, one is an actual news channel and the other is CNN.

Let's see what the differences between Clinton and Moore are.

1. Clinton lied about it and then admitted it with Monica.
2. Clinton Paid out in the neighborhood of $800,000. to one of his accusers
3. None of them have been 40 years old.
4. How did the media treat Clinton and his accusers?
5. Regarding the Monica shit, back then my comments were to the affect that anyone who has their fingers on the nuclear button, I'm good with them doing whatever they can to relive their stress.

I'm not sure why I wasted my time responding, I'm sure you won't have any comment worth reading regarding how the powers at be have handled the women who are making the accusations and the person being accused.

Conservatives need to stop defending Moore. They need to aggressively investigate the allegations and then get rid of Moore if any of this holds water. I think there is enough there already that he should be gone.

Every time a conservative argues that this is a political attack, that the timing is suspect, that Clinton was worse, or that the process is unfair (all true), they are taking the side of a creep and become guilty by association. Rush Limbaugh arguing about door locks will be remembered by everyone as a defense of Roy Moore and his creepy teen dating (with mom's permission) -- no matter that he claims he was just exploring the facts. In fact the only "facts" that Rush, Hannity, and many local conservative talk show are examining are those facts that would exculpate Moore.

Democrats must be gloating that some conservatives could be so foolish as to line up with Moore on this. Bannon is cooked. He may think he can walk back the plank (hence publishing leaks in his own paper that he might ditch Moore), but it is too late. He has been defending a creep, and potential pedophile, too long.
