How to tell what year HED 3 trispoke?

Is there a way to tell what style/year the HED 3 trispoke wheel set could be? Just trying to find out some more info on a wheel set before i purchase them. thanks

Stickers changed from year to year, but other than that I don't know why it would make any difference. The only change HED made was around the bearing area. They tapered the end slightly.

As long as the wheel isn't damaged the only information you might want is the run-out specification. These numbers are hand etched on the inside of the rim and tell you how round and straight the wheel is.

agree with mike, the main thing you are looking for with a trispoke is the true/round numbers. I had an old Dupont/Specialized one and now have a HED branded "newer" one and functionally they are exactly the same

The only thing of note is on some of them (at least on my HED branded one) the cartridge bearing on one side has a metal shim glued in it. If you try to change the bearings yourself you are in for a real pain in the ass if you knock that shim out, as getting another shim in there without crushing it when you press the bearings in is nigh impossible.
