How to Post Pics

I've seen a few people selling stuff mention that they don't know how to upload a pic. Here's how:

1) First you need to upload your pic to a free image hosting service. You can use any of them, but in this example I'll show you how to use tinypic.com. Go to tinypic.com, click Browse, find the pic you want to upload, and then click Upload Now.

2) Once you've done that, you'll be given a few links that you can copy. The link we'll want to copy is the one titled "Direct Link for Layouts".

3) Once you've done that, go to SlowTwitch and make your post. When you're ready to insert your picture into the post, click the little button at the top that looks like a picture frame.

Paste the link and click OK. You're done.

had this problem too at first. Couldn't copy/paste link. I just typed it into the url box that pops up and it worked fine for me.

Question: How do I post a classified ad? I have tried Safari, Firefox and IE and still cannot get the "Post Item" button to work. If you can point me to a tech support contact, I'd be very thankful.

Use the "Resize" option on TinyPic. Change it from "Default" to "Message Board".

I posted in the Lavender Room about posting from the interwebs. I'm trying to post a photo of a chamois cream from the maker's web site without the attending text, so the url alone won't work.

How do I keep up with some of our more comedic posters' material?

I have done ALL this. My problem is once I click on the image icon on ST, then paste the URL as mentioned in your post, I click ok, but nothing happens. The box stays there and nothing uploads. I have a mac running Lion, tried safari and firefox. Any suggestions?

I was having trouble until I skipped clicking on the photo upload button and just pasted (Control-V) the tiny pic IMG code directly in the body of the post.

Start a new thread in the Tri forum and say what you wrote to me. You have to get 25 posts in order to be a "regular" here.

In the Lavender Room, the Word Association thread is an easy way to push up your post count without encountering too many crazy people.

Only about 20 more posts and you're there ;-)

Imgur is the best free site I have used for pictures. You can easily create an album with a single URL.

My problem is the new forum software. It appears we can no longer embed images. Is the intention to simply link directly to the images, or am I missing something in the new code?

Did you ever get this figured out? I've posted several photos in the past, but now don't have the icon anymore either???

ETA:

Figured it out. When you upload to tinypic now there is an option for the code to insert for Images on Message Boards or Forums.

Just copy that and paste it into your post where you want the image and it shows up.

When you go to tinypic, just copy the second link "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" and paste directly into your post - worked for me!

I see the button for it, but it doesn’t work.

I agree... honestly, this functionality would be nice to significantly improve. This is a barrier to me posting classifieds much more consistently. If it could be even brought to par with craigslist that would be a game changer for me.

I'm trying to use Tiny Pic and keep getting upload failed, this is absurd it's 2019 for crying out loud, virtually every other site in the world has an attachment icon, FIX THIS!!!!!!!
