Any idea when the RCX5 will be available in the polarusa.com store? Seems odd to me that it's available at other retailers but not polarusa.com.

Polar is giving the first few moths of availability to the local specialty bike,run and tri shops. It is the same two year warranty whether purchased at your local shop or at Polar and some of you may already have discounts due to shop affiliations as a loyal customer or from team/individual sponsorship. Polar USA prefers to have the first shipment to hit our shores go out so we can support our retailers who support us!

This Thursday July 7th at 12pm EST will be the first webinar for current or potential RCX5 owners. Chris and I will have one the following week at 3pm EST for the West Coast athletes who could view while on a lunch break. Chris and I will attempt to record both sessions.

Two questions.
Are there any way to import other data into polarpersonaltrainer?
I had a Suunto T6 watch earlier and want to include the data from the sessions with that watch into polarpersonaltrainer also?

Will the accurate of the GPS be better if the batterylimit is higher?
The latest two weeks I see a decrease in the accurate when I´m swiming with the GPS (have created a new sportprofile for this and the GPS is in the swim cap during the swim)?
I have also noticed that it takes longer time for the watch to pick up the GPS at start also.

Must say that I really love this watch :)

You can not import other data to PPT.com You might need a neutral 3rd software to combine your Suunto files and Polar. I do not have any Suunto .HRM files to attempt to import into Polar's ProTrainer5 software. This might be a case for Training Peaks?


Polar G5 GPS
The G5 is still fairly new so we welcome feedback which we pass along, so thanks for your feedback with experience in the field. Unless the G5 is nearly dead, I would think it should perform with a high level of accuracy. You have 20hrs of battery life. Is it taking longer for the watch to snyc up with the G5, that check mark you get on the watch, or is it taking longer for the G5 to blink green? As you and other GPS device owners know, it is best not to have the device moving while trying to "get a signal".

I am regretting buying the RCX5 version without the GPS. Is there anyway to get one. Also, my cradle for my s3+ got damaged when I got caught on some netting and I am worried about its stability running. Is there a way to purchase an extra one of these as well? I cannot find anything on the Polar site.

It is the part to check mark it with the watch.
After reloaded the G5 it was better again. I haven´t done any new swim training after the reload so I can´t say if the accuracy is better again.
If you want .gpx files to send to your experts don´t hesitate to ask me for them.
As I swim almost the same route every time there should be "good" files to compare with the "bad" ones :)

The G5 GPS should be available. I would contact your local running,cycle or tri shop who is currently selling Polar and see if they can add one to their next order. As for your S3+ cradle, hmmm, not sure if that is available. How about this, since I have a knee issue and will not be able to run, I will take the S3+ cradle off my show and send it to you?? Deal? PM me your address we will take of you, assuming you live in the USA :) Next time your doing some boot camp or Muddy Buddy involving nets, zip tie, or a small piece of duct tape just to secure for this style of training or racing.

Is my RCX5 supposed to click when I press the buttons? It actually clicks and beeps. It also has been falling asleep lately, and I dont remember turning on an auto sleep function (if it exists). Is there a timer alert on the watch?

While we're asking general questions... About once a week mine goes blank while I'm sleeping. I hit the red button and it comes back on and about 15 minutes later it goes blank again, I hit the button again and it's fine after that for another week or so.. The blank screen always happens in pairs and I always discover it first thing in the morning. Is this some feature or setting I don't understand or is this a defect?

Hi guys, sorry for the delay. The watch is supposed to click, like an IPOD when navigating so you have confirmation that the button was pressed. Sleep Mode, our new #1 question. It happens probably at midnite until 6am, auto sleep mode, battery save mode. All you have to do is press any button. We thought our BETA units had something unique happening to them. I have never read a RCX5 manual, I am lead to believe it is a built in feature that you can not turn on or off, either on the watch or PPT.com. It will go back to sleep until 6am. I was wondering if I pressed any button it would realize that I am awake, you stay awake too :) Polar is just trying to help extend your using experience by extending the battey.

Could define Time Alert a bit further, I am not sure if you mean alarm to wake of or repeat timer? No software for downloading, downloads to https://www.polarpersonaltrainer.com/

A timer that would go off every x amount of minutes within a workout is what I'm referring to.

This is all done on PPT.com and sent back to the watch, not a problem. Chris and I may have to host another webinar, especially since our friend in DC may want to attend :)

Chris and I are working on one more RCX5 webinar for either the Aug 30 or 31st. We will finalize a time and officially announce the date, time and log in info. We might even have a special guest or two who we will invite, we just have to make sure MACHO GRANDE or BMANNERS are available :) We will inform some special guests of our webinar. We will be conducting one more webinar for the Polar RCX5. We welcome current owners, and anyone considering it. We are opting for an early East Coast time of 9:30am for two reasons. A few Europeans have contacted myself and Chris@PolarUSA, so maybe some of you can log on at work?? For the West Coast crowd, pour a cup of coffee or set the bike up on the trainer near your computer? For the East Coast crowd, we have tried the lunch hour time frame and if needed, just stop by and visit us :)

Watching a recorded webinar is so cold and lacks that direct connection. I can open the room anytime for some RCX5 techie talk. Email and so we can connect, Scottv or anyone else. I have a pdf of the power point I can email you and either over the phone with the watch in you hand or via adobe connect and phoning in to me, we can do some simulation work. People call our Customer Care Dept all the time with "How To" questions, I can make it more visual for you St'ers

I just purchased the RCX5 and "Googled" why the device was going to sleep. Having found this forum, I would love getting info on a future (or past) webinar. Please let know how how you can best be contacted...and thank you in advance!

From here you can adjust the sleep mode, create new sports profiles and export your .hrm or .gpx files if needed
