Arms and shoulders are fine after a long ride. I would like some more cushioned arm pads for the aerobars but that's about it.

I am going to go in for another fit before my first race in April.

Nice "lap" pool...how many meters is it?

Here is mine, though I am not much of the "mafia" type!

Although now there is a Hed C2 Jet90 up front (rear C2 90 and disc cover coming soon), the aero bars are now straight, an aero bottle is on the seat tube and a bottle cage rests between the aero bars.

I just put on the wheel in those pics and the brakes needed all kinds of adjusting due to some serious rubbing. The wheel wouldn't spin at all and, therefore, couldn't change gears. I can report that the RD is now in its proper position and the chain is on the big ring.

The pics were for insurance purposes and not necessarily for bike porn. Please excuse the faux pas. ;-)

Very nice to see it all come together. Nice looking ride.
You'd never even know it had been swimming... ;)

I hope some of what I paid for your old ride went into this one? (Maybe the rear wheel?)

I like it a lot. (Even better when you cut those cables!)

Bike looks wicked, except for the tire and wiring (which someone already mentioned) and the bottle just doesn't seem to jive with the black/red/white.

Felt makes some great looking bikes. What's up with all the spacers?

You buying my old bike literally paid for the rear wheel. Same price!

Yes, the bike has seen the bottom of the pool. That's the deck I took my doomed journey down. Not my finest moment.

The cable thing never really dawned on me until someone else mentioned it a few weeks ago. It does give me something to tether my bento box to though.

I love my red/black tire. I'd match the front if Bonty would make a black/red Aero TT tire.

The bottle was a screw up from the online retailer I bought it from. It was supposed to be white, they shipped silver. A deal was worked out. Not perfect but it will do for now.

What spacers??? I just have the stem adjusted higher for comfort. The Felt Bayonet II system is very adjustable.

My wife found me at 1:30pm, unconscious, lying on the floor being spooned by my laptop. This thread was visible on the screen.

There were two empty wine glasses nearby, a burnt-down cigarette was hanging from my mouth (I don't even smoke), and I was naked.

That's how gorgeous these bikes are.

Cables have been fixed.

I put the bottle rack on a few weeks ago and have been too lazy to take it off. I will not be using it during sprint/olympic races, I will be using it for HIM and IM races to carry my EFS and spare tubes, flat kit, etc. The Felts only have one bottle cage so you gotta do what you gotta do. When I am on the bike, my legs shield the bottle rack to a certain degree and is probably not creating as much drag as you would think (queue wind tunnel dork to tell me how wrong I am). No doubt it creates some but I'll live with it. Not like I'm going to win or qualify for anything.

hard to say, I have not set the set screw as of yet and it hasn't been outside yet. noticibly lighter(not that it matters) than what it replaced.

Does HED make these for track aps, or would you just take the brake lever off?

Speaking of brake levers, that is a PITA to install cable and housing on those puppies due to having to remove the brake lever to do the job and having to deal with the finicky return spring. Also been told that the screws that hold the levers on need to be watched as they might come loose and fall out(loctite)

Just take the lever off. I saw a pic of MiniPhinney using one on a pista version of the Trek Speed Concept. I'm just looking for something stiff and UCI legal, whatever that is from day to day.

Won't have to worry about cable routing. I'm also looking into the new Easton Attacks, Felt Devox, and Ritchey Interval with Sliver.

It's a Selle San Marco Team Replica. I've been riding that same model for like three years on all of my bikes, and I love it. It's really "soft", but the downside is there isn't any gel (which also makes it very light for being so soft), so it tends to compact and "settle" giving it a pretty limited life.

I haven't tried either the vitesse of aliante, but I did ride an arione for a while and I didn't like it that much--too flat for me.

What tape are you using?
How do you like the set up with just tape and no up turn on the brake/grip area instead of the Felt grips that have the up turn? Curious why you went that route. Guess you have no fear of hands slipping forward or off the "hoods."

I've been watching this thread for a while, but have been resisting posting due to my bike being on the trainer rather than in it's race configuration. I don't have any fancy high-res shots and I'm still in the middle of a bunch of pre-season work, but theres not a whole lot of B12 love in here so here we go:

Oh, I like. I am shopping for a new road bike now after having mine taco'd by a truck hitting me a few weeks ago. I ride a felt tri bike now but want to really look hard at eh AR series. However, my local shop isn't dealing felt anymore and the one that does doesn't have any AR frames. How is the ride? Cornering, climbing?

I'm very happy with my Felt AR. My frame of reference is a bit skewed since my last road bike was a 2001 Trek 5200, so jumping to something almost 10 years newer, you are going to feel it improves on almost all levels.

Its too bad you don't live near Sacramento, CA. There is a local shop selling 56 and 58 cm 2009 Felt AR4s for $2100!

Nice touch. A couple of suggestions as you break it in and get settled on a position. The extensions are designed to be delivered uncut and trimmed to fit by the dealer. I assume you got this bike in the box so some of that set up is going to be required by you. The arm rests also appear too high relative to the extensions. The hand position should be in plane with the arm rest. There are spacers under the arm rest that can be removed to dial in that height. I'd also suggest that you slide the arm rests behind the base bars and flip the offset to the front, rather than the rear. You have the elements of a good fit started, just some clean up and better execution will help you really put some spark on Black Lightning.

If it were me, I would go all out and wrap the extensions with http://www.competitivecyclist.com/...-tape-5432.27.1.html instead of the white. I have the black/blue on my road bike and it is SICK! Possible saddle change with that, too, but only if comfort remains. . nice job though, very hot bike.

Thanks! As you said, I got it in a box. I know your/Felt's opinion on buying your bikes that way, unfortunately the LBS:s in my region (Sweden) typically only carries carbon Treks and Cervelos at 2-3 times the price of this bike.
I will look into your suggestions as I get used to the bike. It was more comfy than my old clip-on-roadie right out of the box though (maybe no surprise).

Some of the Garmin team bikes had custom forks and stems 3cm lower than the production bikes to make up for the large stack on the 3T aerobars. These special forks were not needed when the guys rode OVAL parts with their slimmer profile and lower aerobar mounting positions. The DEVOX bars are similar to OVAL in that they have a low bar-clamp-to-arm-rest rise.

About the Slipstream DA;

All I know is that the combo 08 frame and 09 fork was the exact setup used for that extra long TT on the GIRO in O9.
The position I got the bike with was crazy, I could not hold for 5 km let alone 180! And the aero bottle would rest on the front wheel. Got rid of the carbon handlebars too, did not like the sensation.

PROS:
-Seat post easy to adjust.
-The paint job is great.
-Fabrication is spotless.
-The older DuraAce is fitted. I don't like the new one.
-It rides like a road bike and is even capable on the pavé if you keep the speed up.
-Best climbing TT bike I've ever ridden.
-Easy to clean.
-Mounts on the home trainer Ok.
-I've ridden it "cyclo cross" across a flooded field to get to a T2 zone - It did great =)

Cons
-The rear brake is very hard to adjust - would have been easier to take a front brake and mount it UNDER the frame - Or a rear brake reversing the pads.
-The adjusting bolts in the rear entry drop outs are too small, and are in a size that does not correspond to ISO allen wrenches. I'll get them rebored someday.
-The head set is fiddly and badly designed - and creaks.
-A clicking from the bottom bracket that eludes me...
-In the rain + wind with 808's, it's a handfull, very nervous and prone to losing the front - more than other bikes I've ridden.

Overall, it's a wonderfull TT bike

How does the AR compare with an F-Series?

I have an F-5 Summer Bike and and older F-5C in Winter Clothes (mudguards/fenders, bitza groupset plus heavy wheels). Contemplating upgrading the Summer Bike, but thinking either a new F-Series or an AR, it would only be for Sportives and very hilly Tri's (maybe Challenge Henley), as the DA is good for all but the hilliest Tri courses.

Any opinions from the Felt Mafia?

It could be a number of things, but what did it for me was changing out seats. I've got an Adamo saddle & never had the problem again. It could be fit-related as well, but the new seat's what fixed the issue for me.

Oh yeah, I saw your bike. We were wondering how it was they let you ride those wheels.
What with the no disc policy. (And whoever "they" are!) Yeah, they aren't discs, but it seemed
like everything that was said put the scare in people to not ride tri-spoke wheels. Heck, I was
a little freaked about about my Reynolds Strikes at 66mm deep. But it was no problem at all
for me. How'd the wheels handle for you at IM COZ?

Here is my "New to me" B2 that I recently aquired from a fellow SlowTwitcher. He knows who he is and I thank him again for a smooth transaction. I couldn't be happier with my new ride. This is my frist road/tri bike.

Now, I am sure many of you are going to ask why I have yellow TTR2 wheels on this bike. Well the original bike was a 2008 B2 with a Black/Yellow paint job that matched them. The current frame is a brand new 2007 B2 frame with a new 2010 Bayonet 2 fork and the components and the wheels were ported over during the frame replacement.

Oh yeah, don't mind the mountain pedals...I threw those on so I could take it for a test drive around my basement until I pick up some Speedplays. lol

I will use these wheels for indoor training over the winter and will probably buy some race wheels in the spring. Any other suggestions?

They were fine for the most part, though it was a little tricky at times during the 3rd lap on the far side of the island when the wind picked up. I could see how they might be a pain if the wind was worse, but I'm also used to riding on them in windy conditions so it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. Maybe if I was fast on the bike, I might have problems. ;)

yes sir, TriLab is the best!

One weird thing though, we ordered a Felt 3.2 Aero fork but Felt sent a B10 fork, the exact one on the bike. TriLab had a hard time convincing the Felt people they sent the "wrong" fork but Felt said that the part # on the website and in the printed 2011 catalog for the Aero 3.2 fork was in fact the red B10 fork. Weird, but the red is growing on me!

- Dura Ace 7900 crank
- Dura Ace 7800 rear brake
- Zipp '10 808 clinchers with Zipp tires, latex tubes and custom decals with the american flag (dark/muted) inside the red zipp letters

Sure is! A good friend of mine is a Territory Mgr for PPG paint. He had one of PPG's custom paint trainers do the work. All the logos, fonts, and pin-striping were done by hand. Gold and variegated gold leaf details. Cool stuff! I had no idea what it was going to look like... I handed over my frame and said "Have fun!" 4 weeks later, this is what I got! I'm going to feel bad riding this thing through the dirt...

The Felt was never the proper fitting bike for me. I'm more legs than torso so the long & low nature of the Felt wasn't ideal.

The steel freehub body.

In addition, once I manage to get the TTR3's fixed, i will have a spare set of wheels laying around... and cassette changes should be a breeze now too. I had a spoke go out on the ttr3s and the lbs had a hell of a time getting the cassette off early last year to replace the spoke.

Well, since you asked for comments:

By tilting your basebar up that much you are increasing the frontal area and negating the benefits of the airfoil. If you want a bar that has upturned grips, you should look elsewhere. Other than that it's a pretty sick ride!

You bring up a good point. I tilted them up because I didn't feel comfortable while breaking hard when they were parallel to the ground. The lost aero savings is make up in making me a bit more comfortable at high speeds.

I am in the process of getting it ready for Tremblant. Saddle, wheel cover, bottle cages and repair kit to be added by Sunday.

Are you sure? Is the drag on most TT bikes higher at zero deg yaw or say, around 10-15 degrees?

Dave,
I think he is referring to how I have tilted up my ZIPP Vuka base bar, which would increase the frontal area and increase drag slightly.

I know where you're coming from. I just got a base bar with flat grips (Syntace Stratos CX). It definitely makes me a little nervous, especially when my hands are sweaty. I'm hoping that some super high friction tape will help. I want to check out tape with a sandpaper texture. I've seen others around here use skateboard tape or deck tape. I spend so little time out of aero that abrasion shouldn't be an issue.

Pretty much stock 2011 B16, except the wheels!

Front FLO 60, Rear FLO 90
Michelin Pro Race 3's, Flash Yellow
Vittoria Latex Tubes
Ultegra 11-25 Cassette

OK, so the "Flash Yellow" Pro Race 3's didn't quite match like I would have liked, but the Stealth Green on the wheels actually matches better than I thought it would.

Oh and Speedfil A2 upfront with a Minoura Double Bottle Launcher in the back.

Nice setup!

Three questions:
(1) How did you get you arm pads so narrow (I have same bike)?

(2) Is the third picture reversed, or is your front brake operated by the right lever?

(3) Are the zip ties in the third picture for a computer or water bottle?

Thanks,
Paul

You are very attentive!

1) I flipped the arm pads 180* so the "wing" is on the inside. You can see that I built up a wing for the left arm using a bit of (poorly) self shaped foam. More on that in a minute.

2) The brakes are flipped, right brake controls the front. I had a stroke during infancy and sustained brain damage in the control centers to my left limbs.

3) It is my jankified Garmin 500 mount. The mount is round and fits into the center zip tie and when the head unit is installed the system cannot fall out of the zip tie.

Sweet bike! I'm a DA guy myself.

Couple observations...esp since your username IS OCD.

-if you're gonna post a pic of an awesome bike on ST, get the driveside crank arm at 3:00!
-get the crank in the BIG RING for the pic!
-non-aero cage on a superbike???
-How big are your hands??? That bar tape on your aerobars looks about 12" long!
-Usually people mount their tires w/ the labels opposite the valves so you can find where to remove the tire more quickly if you get a flat during a race

Otherwise...awesome bike:) :) :)

It's just a plain ol' disk cover from wheelbuilder: http://www.wheelbuilder.com/aerodisc.html

I drew up the graphics on photoshop and printed it out on big sheets of adhesive vinyl. The only tricky part is applying the graphics on a slightly conical shape without getting any air bubbles.

I also did the "Vitruvian Man" graphic a couple years back and it turned out well.

Is that a matte finish on that bike? If so the new CHIMP cages in matte would look awesome. They come in the natural carbon color. You could also consider the dual-tone white cages that we came out with about a month ago. Those would look pretty sick!

Black/Carbon cages.
Rims look nice and clean w/o decals.
Cut the extensions down another 2 inches and then the cable housing about 6 inches shorter, add an inline adjuster for the rear brake to ease wheel-swaps.
Loop the front brake housing behind the stem, not in front of the fork and below the stem.

Tell me about your choice to ditch the Metron shifters.

SuperDave,

Any special tool that is available to ease adjustment of the rear drive side brake pad on the B14? A standard 90 degree Allen wrench won't fit and taking the chain ring off is more hassle than I want to go through when putting my race wheels on. I tried using the search but most threads dealt with alternate brake options to replace the stock brake.

Awesome! I'm about 3 hours away from my "LBS," so once I get some free time from school I'll be getting all of that taken care of.

I decided to ditch the Metron shifters because I felt the levers would be in the way as far as hand positioning. I also feel like I have more control with the standard DA shifters being able to shift with my thumb and pointer while maintaining a tight grip. With the metron shifters you loose that grip you get with an open palm/hand to grasp the lever. Not sure if that makes any sense....

I do have a few random Qs.
How important are the rubber inserts where the shifter/brake cable enter in the top tube and on the chain stay? Mine got torn when they were building up my bike. They're just kind of hanging on right now.

Also, what do you recommend torque wise on the stem for the bar clamp? I did the listen nM, but the bars wont stay.

The white paint strip on the bottom of the top tube where DA is starting to flake off. Is there something I can do to prevent it from getting worse? Eventually my bike will accumulate scratches/blemishes, but I'd like to try to keep that new bike look for a while.

The DA is one awesome bike. As a replacement for my B12, I can feel a HUGE difference (or maybe it's that new bike feeling? haha). Felt should definitely be proud of this line. I also have to admit....at first I thought the color scheme was ugly, but it has grown on me. A lot.

I tried using the search but most threads dealt with alternate brake options to replace the stock brake.

I replaced that bolt with a regular hex-head bolt, that way you can adjust it anytime you want without taking your crank or chainring(s) off. Obviously you have to take off the ring(s) to make the swap, but once it's done you're all set... super easy.

Anyone have issues with their DA Bayonet spline continually coming loose? My whole front end is becoming a pain in the ass because I constantly have to tighten everything.

I'm hoping I can get a fixed stem...

My Turn! 2013 race machine is approaching readiness!

AR4 plus Profile Design T1 bars. Not shown are my Flo 60 race wheels w/ Conti 4000s tires. On the lookout for some flat top road bars (Oval R900 or something like that) to really round it out.

'13s are shipping now. The 2013 B12 uses an all new frameset and the bike is considerably better in every aspect except the change to 10 speed Ultegra derailleurs once Dura-Ace went 11s.

Also DA4 vs. B12...I know the fork is different, but anything else to justify the additional $?

I'm really curious to hear how you like racing the AR4.

The reason I ask is that I love my F5, but really am not digging my B16. I'm considering selling both and getting the AR4 instead. Thoughts?

Have only raced it once, but I dig it quite thoroughly. Nicely balanced frame- not as aero as a B series, but its a lot more "fun" to ride than a straight up TT bike. I don't look or feel like a total doofus on group rides, but I can TT on it pretty well too. My only real gripe is that I can't really get as far forward as I would like on the saddle without feeling like I'm putting too much weight on the front wheel.

I'd reckon that with a little bit more tweaking to my position, I could get just as aero on this as my previous bike(QR Seduza), and not have to give up group rides or own multiple bikes.

The DA gets you the last 4.5% of aerodynamic savings, another ~250g of weight savings, the upgraded rear V-brake.

For many people I feel the B12 will be a better bike, it also gives you options like the chance to use a cable actuated center pull brake like the B2 uses. It has two bottle bosses; great for those who ride in hotter climates and might train w/ two big bottles.

Some might say the B12/B2 chassis is more "consumer-friendly" because it uses fewer proprietary parts. The TRP brake is shared with many other brands' brakes, unlike the DA and while the 1.125" is much wider and lacks the range of vertical adjustment as the Bayonet, every bike shop on the globe understands how to assemble and service a 1.125" headset. The custom Bayonet3 headset and stem system is unique and requires an understanding of Felt's system to install and maintain.

If you need a high performance convertible, most would argue the Z06 over an M6; unless you wanted 3 passengers.

Yeah - I'm your customer. I just want a bike- not a project, and I'm not that competitive that the last 11 seconds matter. (now... if it were 15 seconds- then we're talkin' ;) )

Will you be selling just the B12/B2 frame kit?

you noted above- 'better in every way'. The new frame certainly has a modern, slippery look. Is there a weight difference? How does the ride/feel compare to the 'old' Bxx frame? stiffness? geometry? vibration absorption? handling?

I've got a B10. Which frankly- I love the feel of so I'm not really looking for anything different- but if I could move my pricey Di2 over to the new frame- that might be a sweet machine. I use my B10 now as my primary bike. daily rides, hill climbs, group rides, tri's. The dual position shifting makes it really versatile.

Rear brake adjustment is tough. Wasn't much of an issue until got 2nd set of wheels. Like the custom allen wrench idea. I've used the ball-head type allen to come in at angle, and works enough.
Anyone brave enough to grind down inside of big chain ring in a spot to provide clear access?

Love to see the flat back scheme come into fashion on all the new high-end bikes. Felt was there in '09.

You also have your basebar angled upwards by what looks to be at least 10-15 degrees. Unless it is round, you're creating an awful lot of drag by turning an airfoil sideways to the airflow...

its an 54 stronglight, I haven't found anyone who had that combo (54/38) so I will try it out if its shiftable as soon as the snow goes away.

I did this because of the "porn" in the title. ;-)

yeah I know it's more negative but with the slippery original pads I was moving forward with every little road bump and the Vision ones I wanted were out of stock for month.....
long story short, I'm still in the fitting process although it was almost good.
to give just the extensions an angle would be a great option though .

Fits Kinda Perfect, don't know if the reg torhans would be even better but they were not available in Germany.
It's a little gap cause I don't wanna gettin the clear coat damaged through some rubbing.
You just need some longer screws and a few plastic washers to get it installed.

Wow it's complicated to post pics!

Anyway, here are the girls (training wheels and tires not shown):

2011 Felt DA: Gray Carbon Composites 95mm rear + 55mm front w/ Conti Grand Prix TT tires, Dura Ace 7900 w/ FSA CronoTT (54x42) + Sram TT900 levers, Devox basebar, Adamo Race saddle, fornt and rear hydration are custom mounted cages on custom made carbon tubing, flat kit hidden underneath saddle

2008 Felt F4: Gray Carbon Composites 55mm set w/ Conti GP4000s tires (not shown), Dura Ace 7900 (53x39), Fizik Arione saddle, Easton EC90 bar, standard Ritchy carbon seat post, flat kit under saddle
--> thank you ST classifieds! (you know who you are)

2007ish Felt B2Pro transformed into single speed: cheep AreoMax wheels w/ Conti Tour tires, Felt F1 tri saddle, cheep alum. bars, FSA SLK crank (35t)... and yes I have a brake!
--> this was given to me by a retired pro about 5 years ago, much too big for me but got me through my first two tri's and got me addicted

Shots of my AR1 and my new DA2. Both bikes are completely stock (including wheels), except for saddles, bottle cages/torpedo and K-Edge computer mount on the AR1. The saddle on the AR1 is a demo, I'm waiting for a warranty replacement saddle from Felt. Also waiting for K-Edge to come out with a TT computer mount for the DA's aerobar extensions. I'm planning on using the Torhans VR bottle system as my nutrition supply for long distance races on the DA, and I'm going to get a power meter - otherwise no other mods planned or needed on either bike.

Offseason upgrades:
Wheel Cover: Wheelbuilder's Aerojacket on my FLO 90 (affixed with electrical tape)
Pedals: Speedplay Zero Stainless Steel Special Edition 'Team Green'
Aerobars: Felt Devox Full Carbon 39cm wide Matte Black

Still working on the fit and final setup (I can definitely go lower with these bars). I'll run a Speedfil A2 upfront, but take off the frame bottle mount and put one behind the saddle, then tools/repair kit in a Dark Speed Works bag.

With the Devox aerobar, I do believe I am a "made" member of the Felt Mafia.

I didn't see if you got a response. Two solutions 1. Saw of your L hex to about 3/8 inch. 2. Go to your local hardware store and replace the pad bolt with a 8mm bolt head and use a 8mm wrench.

Here is my Felt DAC that I just put together. Used my components from my old 2009 B2 and added the PD Prosvet bars. Fit isn't dialed in yet so cables are kind of everywhere. And yes, my basement is dirty but it does the job. Haven't been on it yet since it took way longer to build up than I wanted. And that dang rear brake is annoying!

I'm pretty certain that's Mirinda Carfrae's "old" bike, and I read somewhere once that Felt custom made that stem for her out of steel because the aluminum wouldn't hold up (supposedly).

That's absurd. Felt never made any custom stems out of steel for Rinny. We had some stainless steel bolts fail under our excessive fatigue testing in early prototypes of the stems used by the Garmin team. There has never been a failure in the field but I do not recommend using them if you find one somehow.

Recently was riding down PCH and some guy on a Specialized ended up tagging along for a couple miles, turns out it was Neil Browne, tell him to hurry up and build his Felt frame. ;)

I've since added a DarkSpeedWorks bento, works great for snacks and to hold my phone backup battery with 4" cord so I can run with my Strava on for 6+ hours showing HR, Cadence, distance, etc.

but other than that and the oddities of 6800 seems pretty decent to me.

i will definitely get around to recabling the rear brake to remove the bulky cludge of the inline quick release

i didnt want to drop additional coin for electric on the AR, even though toptube entry would have been nicer for shift routing. I like the glossy look, easier to keep clean looking and as we all know, red is fast, so I am going to have to dye what little hair i have left red as well. :) bike colors match team colors, lucky me, even though not team sponsor

SD............are those silly seatpost pieces necessary from an aero perspective? I am put them somewhere and not on post as i will use a different saddle come outdoor season and that may result in slight lowering of saddle. i though i saw somewhere that they were not. i guess they might keep sweat out of falling into post

+1

Mist down with some Finish Line bike wash and wipe clean with a microfiber. I've dealt with enough matte finishes in the automotive world to know about the pros and cons of them, i'm quite happy with my AR4. I'll probably do either the DA 9070 or Ultegra 6870 upgrade soon enough however, both to clean up the cabling and to even further improve on the shifting performance.

I also don't use the silicone seat post inserts A) because i'm afraid to cut them only to wind up changing my fit at some point and not having replacements available on the felt site yet, and B) so that people can see that its new and cool. :-)

I also don't see frame plugs available for those who have already changed an AR from mechanical to electric and need to close up the downtube holes.

How does the TriRig stopping power compare to the new 6800 front brake? I hope the prototype Felt front brake makes it out of the skunkworks eventually. Maybe Dave can reach out to local AR riders who pass through Irvine all the time to test them. -_- :-)

The AR2 and FRD are designed for electronic only with cable entry behind the stem, so there's no need for frame plugs.

And AR3 EPS sold only in the USA and Asia. AR3 R sold in EU uses the UHC Advanced frame / UHC Ultimate fork but retains the mechanical shifting of the AR4, AR5, and AR1 frameset. In fact, the AR3 R and AR1 framesets are the exact same lay up.

Elite Crono CX, not much if any wider than the frame itself. 500ml. And yes, they're dimpled.

If you suck in as you squeeze the bottles, they gush water. If you try to just squeeze, you feel like you're going to blow the lid off.

Sent you a PM the other day about my new DAC frame set and not having the top tube plug. Also, does anyone who has a DA use the frame plugs for the FD/RD? I tried but it became almost impossible to guide the cable into the guide on the FD. Working out some issues with the rear brake and trying to get it adjusted now. Drive side brake arm doesn't seem to want to move much when cable is tight. I unscrewed the small screw to see if that helped. Maybe I will try to move the spring to one of the other holes. But I have plenty of time to figure it out before it sees the outdoors.

Hopefully SuperDave will be able to help me out. Still trying to get the dang rear brake to work really well without me pulling the lever too much. No need to use the rubber strips. They just keep the inside of the frame clean.

AR3 EPS is the best way to get the most aero and lightest of the UHC Advanced frames. $5000 is a "steal"

Here's my .02 on the AR2. In terms of ride quality, I wouldn't compare it to other aero frames--I'd put it against any top of the line race bike. It rides and handles extremely well with great acceleration from stiff bottom bracket, and precise handling. It requires very little getting used to: just get on and go. For a race rig that's a nod to user friendliness. Initially the steering felt light, but after some descending it was an easy adjustment. Not twitchy or on edge like some bikes, which again adds to versatility as an all-arounder.

My winter bike is a BMC SLR01, which I've always considered to be very comfortable for a race frame but kind of spongy performance. The AR2 doesn't match in terms of pure comfort (nor does it need to), but is in a different league for handling and feedback. IMO it's on par with the S-Works SL4. I was going to keep the BMC to train and do long/tough races on but there's no need--watch for it in classifieds soon...

The other thing I like about this bike is the complete build package. It's well integrated and tight all around, with Ultegra Di2 and 3T cockpit. It's super clean with cables routed just on top tube just behind stem and battery hidden in seat tube. I've ridden the past generation Di2 a few times and the new one is steps beyond. Safe to say I won't go back to mechanical again.

One thing I didn't like on spec is the hidden Ultegra rear brake. It's not great, and that's a spot for possible improvement/upgrade. Also, this is more specific to my preferences but the wheels are interesting. Not exactly everyday hoops but also not what I'd want to race on. I sold them off and am replacing with Hed Ardennes + SL tubeless setup for when comfort is a premium, such as training and races like Battenkill. 303s otherwise.

Aside from those two nitpicky comments, two snaps for this bike. Safe to say it's my fav.

Side note: I switched out the Ultegra crank for my Red SRM. I'm waiting on new 11-spd chainrings but it works ok with 10-spd version. Ultegra shifted more crisply (no surprise there) but hopefully the updated rings will bring it closer.

Nice build! The comfort of that bike impresses me every time I point the bike down the dirt roads and fire at will. Glad you found the same.

How do you like the $300 sprint shifters? Dialing in the new shifting system to work as you want is a great way to personalize the performance of the Di2 system, too. The speed at which the multi-tap engages and the number of cogs that move when you hold down the button are all adjustable.

The 3T wheels were just part of the rest of the 3T package, the price is considerably less than the Zipp 303/404 option and I can't find a $6000 road bike that comes with aluminum wheels so the carbon hoops seemed to be the right spec. Wheels are getting to be like saddles anymore with guys buying condition specific wheels based on their strengths and courses. I use the Shimano C75 wheels but I'd never put them on a bike at the OEM level. The 3T wheelset is a good balance for an "all-rounder" I think. Using 50mm deep wheels has proven to be a bad choice when dealers try to sell bikes to novices on test rides in Texas during the windy season.

Make sure the rear brake is centered with the spring adjustment moving both arms at the same time. The cable housing needs to be free of any kinks so assembly must be carefully looked after. The brake will invariably have a softer lever feel than the front as there is more than twice as much housing so you'll get more compression. There are also more "bends" that get pulled straight when the brake cable is under tension so you lose a little lever travel. The rear quick release might not be needed if your rim widths are similar. A simple inline adjuster might do the trick. Run conventional housing from the brake lever to the inline adjuster and compressionless (Nokon, Jagwire KEB, Avid FlakJacket, Jagwire Link, etc...) housing to the rear caliper.

Yeah, you guys did stellar work in that bike.

Totally get the wheel spec, makes perfect sense for price point. Can't really throw on everyday al rims and DAs or Zipps would get to pricey. Ironically, I've been on Prologo saddles for a while and like that one.

I've played around with the sprint shifting but haven't tuned it yet. I'm not much of a sprinter and probably not the best one to ask, but it is conveniently accessible. The shift speed was already about what I liked so it was a natural transition. Love how you can run up or down the cassette by merely holding down a button.

The rear brake is probably a matter of getting used to. It seems to have a "lighter" feel than Red, which is part of it. Although I did a double take when I looked down while riding and saw the brake arm sticking out so far. Second double take was when I changed rear brake pad and noticed it bulging from the middle because of the set screw placement. Couple swipes with razor sufficiently modified carbon pads but what type do you recommend for that brake?

The shift speed was already about what I liked so it was a natural transition. Love how you can run up or down the cassette by merely holding down a button.

The rear brake is probably a matter of getting used to. It seems to have a "lighter" feel than Red, which is part of it. Although I did a double take when I looked down while riding and saw the brake arm sticking out so far. Second double take was when I changed rear brake pad and noticed it bulging from the middle because of the set screw placement. Couple swipes with razor sufficiently modified carbon pads but what type do you recommend for that brake?

Shimano actually makes a brake pad with a "-1" designation they recommend for wide rims. I think shaving SwissStops is still my "favorite" solution. I'm running the T750 rear brake which has a firmer lever feel and slightly less power than the Shimano rear brake. I've also got some special linkage-type cable housing Jagwire made for me which is really incredible although a PITA to set up as you have to connect each ~7mm link; one by one.

I'm still playing with which side to run the rear brake housing, currently it loops around from the drive side but I think the NDS might be cleaner. I have a PRO Stealth Bar/Stem combo on the bike which will get full internal cable routing through the bar, into the stem, into the fork, and out the fork through the downtube once I get an AR FRD. With no exposed shift cables I want to tidy up the rear brake as much as possible.

I'm also going to install an IA/Bayonet4 front brake on the bike once I get the new frame. With the demand on the AR FRD so high I have to wait for all our consumer sales to be satisfied before I get my "race" bike started.

Hope to see you on the road one of these days.

Where are you located? The stems can be ordered from dealers in the USA with these part numbers referenced although I'd be surprised to hear anyone at the sales office is unaware of the update as we've been working on these for the better part of 18 months.

Dave, I just got the same line from my LBS, which is that they are not available for back order yet. I am located in Northern VA if that makes a difference. Also, my LBS informed me that the sizing is 90mm x 0 and 100 x 0. Not insinuating at all that you are wrong just passing along information.

I called Felt specifically yesterday and gave them the part numbers provided and was told not available and won't be for some time. Located in North Texas and called Felt from LBS.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Ok, I guess I jumped the gun. They exist. They are coming to the USA market for Felt Dealers to sell. The hard part is over.
Perhaps the EOM has the focus on selling what is in stock vs. what is incomming at the moment. I'll make a call to the NY office and see what the timing of taking US-based orders is.

Just ordered a DA4, would like to upgrade to the Carbon/Alloy Bayonet aerobars from the Alloy Bayonet 3 that come with the biek. Does Felt do something where I could get credit towards the different bars if I/LBS send the ones the came with the bike back?

Many of our dealer conduct this type of "swap" an provide a credit for OEM parts toward the purchase of aftermarket product. I see this all the time with Wheels, Saddles, Tires, and extension shapes.

I finally got the last piece I needed last night (740R) and am pretty disappointed in the brake. The arm sticks way out and will not work with my SiSl crankset when set up for my narrow wheel set, which are R-Sys SLRs. However, it is compatible with my Stingers and I'm glad it forced my first ride to be on the nicer tire setup. The bike is an absolute dream. It's by far the most comfortable frame I've ever ridden and I am now entertaining thoughts of selling my Seven. Granted the tires play a huge part in that equation but I raced the same wheel/tire setup last season on my FC and I never once thought that it (FC) was more of a plush ride than the Seven. I also find it plenty stiff for my needs (and more to my liking than the FC) and it seems to track as well as the FC, too. Now, there is plenty of sand out there so I didn't push it too hard. I'm sure I probably won't get a chance to either, until the first crit, but I am confident it will leave me just as satisfied as the FC did in that department. Couple pics below as well as weight. The bike was weighed as you see it minus the bottles.[/img][/img]

Hi there,

I have a quick question for you. I have a Felt DA4 2013 model which has been a pleasure to ride.

The only issue I have with this is that everytime I put weight on the aerobars I hear a creaking noise.

Is this normal? Should it be something to have checked out?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Not the fastest frame out there, but it was the first bike I purchased with my own money and I love it to death. This is the complete setup for Ironman Oceanside 70.3, Hendersen 70.3, and Ironman Arizona.

Don't know how the DA series does it, but on my older B2 with the Bayonet SL, I suffered from creaking whenever I put weight on the aerobars. Disassembled the bayonet completely, cleaned, lubed and installed according to instructions and it went away - it's just that the instructions were somewhat complicated, and the ex-LBS didn't bother reading them.

yep.

I drilled a small hole in the middle of the transition hook.

I have 5 zip ties on the cage. 2 for each of the holes on the cage. Then the 5th on the top flat bit of the cage looped to the hole I drilled on the transition hook. (a bit overkill but secure)

To reduce the chance of ejection even further I have an elastic/hair tie thing cut and tied to the hook and made into a loop that goes onto the mouth of the rear bottle .
you can sort of see it here

I can take close ups later if you want them

If you already have a delta mount, you just use this.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/XLAB-Delta-Wing-Adapter-For-ISM-Adamo-Saddles-/190827069625

If you don't have a delta mount, just buy the whole setup.

I personally already had a delta mount, so I just bought that piece in the first link.

I drilled no holes, not as cost effective as just using zip ties, but there is literally ZERO play in the bottle cage unlike zipties.

FYI I have minimal play with the zipties.

You just have to tighten them evenly on both sides and pull them tight. Pliers help to tighten them even further

Yea, i understand, but with zipties, you have to replace them once in awhile because they tend to stretch overtime and it really just isn't as solid as the xlab mount. That being said, 1000 pack of zipties is definitely a lot cheaper than the mount. I also did not want to drill into the saddle.

Remove:
1-Open the lever
2-push the button
3-pull the battery out

Install:
1-slide battery along guide until it clicks into place
2-close lever

Just the weight of the bottle pulling the cage down. I didn't 'balance' the zip ties so it pulls whole setup down if the bottle is full.

Build it myself, from a 58cm 2013 B2 frame. 2*11 Ultegra, SwissSide Hadron 62mm wheels, Zipp Vuka Alumina aerobar, TriRig stem and brakes, Xlab bottle holders front and back, Cobb Fifty-Five saddle. A Dark Speed Works 483 is waiting installation and I'll either raise the BTA or lower the pads a bit. Now they're at -11 cm.

Love it!

Glad I'm not the only person who writes this mistakenly. I am happy to see yours is on an internet forum and not the work presentation I was humiliated at.

I noticed that after I posted it and left it wondering how long it would take for someone to comment on it! Work presentation, now that's funny. What did you say if you don't mind me (us) asking?

In my presentation I was speaking about discographies and I wrote dickography. Lucky for me it was with my local team and no outside clients had attended. They all chuckled and poked fun at me. I still get the occasional "Do you have the John Holmes dickography box set" in the hallway or at holiday parties until I switched companies.

It was priceless to say the least!

What tires are those? My lady friend would love a pair and I've never been able to find solid pink ones.

Yup. Giro edition. I have a set on my completely pink IF Planet Cross... they are nice and cushy/grippy, but they get dirty on the first ride. The center section turns a rather shabby grey-pink immediately when it picks up road grime. Not anywhere near as nice a ride as my former Schwalbe Ultremo's which had a pink striped sidewall, but these were far cheaper and grippier on slick roads or looser gravel.

Ow man, why is it so difficult to get my hands on the 2015 Felt B14 in size 51 in Europe? I contacted more than 20 shops (fysical / online) and nobody can get there hands on a size 51, even not Felt Germany... And nobody of the +20 shops I've contacted have a Felt on stock. Only on order. Is it that special?

Pffff, really frustrating because I want that bike goddamn! :(

going to post this here as well....I've also posted on a DA brake-issues thread but no responses yet....

I've narrowed down my bike search to two contenders: 2014 Argon 18 e-118 and 2013 Felt DA c.

After having read about all these issues with the rear brake, I'm a little concerned. Is this issue still present on the 2013s with the Bayonet 3 fork or are the issues limited to previous generations of DA?

thanks,
eric

SuperDave has covered this many many times which is why you're likely waiting for a reply. The issue is with proper setup not the actual components themsevles. If you take the time to configure it properly or have a detail oriented wrench work on your bike you won't have any issues. I have both an AR5 and a IA4 both have BB mounted breaking and neither is an issue. Furthermore who uses brakes?

I did all the routing myself and while it was a bit frustrating to get it sized correctly without and kinks, you must make sure the cable isn't too long or else it keeps the brake closed. But once it was set up I had no issues. It take a bit of time with the small adjustments to have each side of the brake engage the same it really won't be much different than any other hidden brake I don't think. If you like the DA more I wouldn't let the brake keep you away from it. I would also suggest looking at the steps someone on here put about installing an inline barrel adjuster as well since that makes things a bit easier to get it really dialed down.

Nice looking build, but good lord, shorten those cables and get rid of some of those spacers below your stem. 25mm max.

Before you buy new aerobars, try dropping the 20mm of headset spacers and mounting the extensions under the base bar by swapping the mounts left to right and using ~10mm risers under the arm rests. That should get you much much lower and eliminate the need to look for a different bar to suit a lower position. You've got ~130mm of y-axis adjustment with the Bayonet3 on a conventional steerer tube, use it up.

I'm in the market for a new tri bike. After a fit session it looks like the best bike to get more bike and less stem/extension would be a Felt B12 or B14 size 61. I like the looks of the B14 better than the B12. I'm not a bike geek so after some basics I dont know enough about mechanical/wheel options to understand some of the advantages. Looking for opinions on the upgrade from a B14 to a B12. For the extra $1000 I dont know if getting dura ace over ultegra and a different seat post is really worth it. Am I missing some important differences?

Thanks for any feedback.

You get more adjustable bars with the B12. If your fitter wasn't concerned about an extreme fit requirement get the B14 and save the cash.
The wind doesn't know what kind of derailleurs you have. If you aren't going with Di2, any new shifter and new derailleur are all going to function about the same. I should probably be a good salesman and push the up sell but if it were my money, I'd go with the B14 and start a Di2 fund for when you wear out the mechanical bits. Use the extra cash (assuming you have it) now to upgrade race tires/tubes, get a proper hydration set up sorted, and spend a winter's week someplace warm getting acquainted with the bike and a significant other. That'll be $1000 much better spent.

SD-thanks for the reply. You mention there is more aerobar adjustability with the B12. How is that? In looking at the specs its not obvious to me. I do in fact have a rather difficult fit. The guys that did the fit only worked with TREK and that was a disaster. I'm using the GURU fit numbers and doing the frame selection on my own. I need a 770mm stack and 530mm reach. In looking at a 61 frame and flipping the stem up it looks like the shims on the aerobars will get me where i need to be. I am assuming the only difference in the adjustment is the change in stems from -7 degree on B14 to the -17 degree on the B12? Correct or am I overlooking something on the aerobar set up.

Thanks,
Bill

I can't speak for @Stalkan, but I suspect that the forward seatpost is related to the SMP Composit saddle. According to Steve Hogg the flare or shoulders of the saddle are 10-15mm further back than a traditional saddle, so the SMP would be mounted that distance further forward to achieve the same rider position. See point #8 on the link below:

Here is my Felt B12 2015 in size 54.

I changed the wheels to 3T Accelero 40 Pro with Conti GP 4000 II 25 mm. Slammed the stem with a dustcap from "Slam that stem", added a 5 mm spacer unde the stem for security reasons and changed the spacers to carbon 3K. The Torhans VR bottle is used for spares and the bottlecage behind the saddle is ziptied to the ISM PR 2.0 saddle and the clamp that came with the bike. At the front i am using a Profile Design HC bottle. On raceday i will use a XLAB Stealth ocket for my gels and some spares.
i am waiting for the Cee Gees Pads to adjust the padhight. As you can see, i love the spacers between the basebar and the elbowpads and hate spacers under the stem :-D I will try to work out my position correctly over the winter month. At the moment the stem is at the lowest position an the spacer under the elbowpads are at 55mm in the highest possible position. So i will take some spacers out from the pads to adjust the height.

I just bought a 2015 Felt AR5 but cannot in any way, shape, or form get my saddle level with the confounded seatpost clamp. Anyone else had this issue? The notched teeth design will level the rails but of course that then means my saddle is pointed down to a degree significant enough that it bothers me. But then moving it one tooth notch back has its nose up!

I can't for the life of me figure out why on Earth they'd have this design that doesn't allow adjustments small enough to level the seat. I've tried two different seats (Prologo and Specialized Romin) and both of them end up nose down or up too far.

Am I just going to have to shim it with something? Seems ridiculous on what's otherwise an awesome bike.

It actually does allow very minute adjustments.

The way your it works is the inner piece has 36 splines while the outer had 38.

That means every time you want an adjustment, you move the back out side in one direction and the inside the other.

Moving the outside ring 1 notch back and the inside 1 notch forward will move the angle 1/2 a degree.

Hope this helps.

I'm struggling to get the TRP 922 rear brake on my Felt B12 2015 to work correctly. The non drive side has a much to big spring tension, also when the little screw is completely turn out. Tried to replace it with a Shimano br 5810. But it doesn't directly fit into the holes on the frame. The holes in the frame are bigger than the screws on the brake. Is the TRP 922 the only brake to fit on the B12 2015? Any advices about how to fit the Br 5810?

Ai-1

The bikes are supported by a pedal wall mount that I found on Ebay (link posted). I used a 1x6 to support the mount by the wall studs and a 1x2 for the wheels to rest on (2x2 for the mountain bike) and then painted to match the wall. I'll admit it's a bit tricky mounting and dismounting the bikes at first, but is definitely much cleaner looking.

What BTA hydration setup is everyone using on their IA?

I am looking to change mine up since it seems fairly bulky and big. I am currently using a Xlab Torpedo in the TriSport BTA 1.1 mount.

Any thoughts on the Torhons or Profile stuff?

Thanks,

I use the Zipp Vuka Alumina BTA w/ Quickview. Yes I am a Zipp rider, but it's the best package out there for BTA & Garmin mounts. I prefer using regular bottles over any aero hydration solutions for a number of reasons. They don't splash you over bumpy or rough roads, and a good bottle doesn't leak. They are much more easy to replace on the race course rather than trying to squeeze fluid into an aero bottle in a finite amount of time before the discard zone ends. And, the Zipp setup actually fits on my 51cm IA frame. I tried Torhans aero bottles, and it just doesn't work with the headtube length (it hit the wheels), and I can't use them with my Vuka Evo 110 extensions as the rise is so aggressive. The small size Torhans bottle worked, but the capacity was too little. The Zipp setup runs with the bottle backwards, so if you have extensions like mine, it makes for easy removal and stowage of the bottle.

Thanks Josh! It looks like the Zipp Vulka BTA w/ Quickview and the TriSport BTA 1.1 mount (what I am currently using) is the same thing. I just slightly modified the mount to run the torpedo bottle. I'll give the bottle method, what your doing, a try and discard the xlab bottle for a while to see if that works/feels better.

BTW congrats on the race in Dubai!

Felt hasn't dropped the ball, they left the game. By now, they could (should) have released anything better than the crap calpac they spec'd the bikes with.

They have all the measurements, but users are left to make their own products and try and figure out what works for different sizes.

Why wait another couple months? My season starts on Sunday. I would pick one of these up today, if available. IF Felt ever does come out with something, and it is better than that, then I'll go for it.

Waiting a couple of months didn't help my taped calpac last year, and it won't help for my upcoming races.

No argument here about those things, it's been a long time coming. Just saying that I saw a version of the new one, and it's better. Like if the one above and the profile design ATTK had a baby, it would be kinda like that. Might even see some uses for the rear bolts and that thing Rinny has on her IA if you look closely.

Cervelo P3 stripped and sold and a new B16 Purchased to strip for the frame and swap all the bits over. Force 10 speed converted to 11 speed with nothing more than a new single Shift lever(love that SRAM sell them on there own)

Got a Flo 90 thats now on the rear but i'm finding it doesnt fit right. The Dish of it seems to be too far over to the non drive side compared to the 60. I never noticed it on the P3 as it had adjustable dropouts so you could get it nicely in the middle.

Does anyone else suffer with this?

Preparing for my first race with the IA10. Ironman European championship 70.3. Fit is now dialed, just have to mount the XLAB BTA bottle.

Changed the extensions for Zipp Evo 110, wheels from old bike and ISM PN 1.1 saddle. The grips on my extensions are ESI racers edge hard to get on but nice feel when you're done. I will do the same for base bar but don't want to mess with brake wires at this moment.

Cannot remember what direction my flo90 rear was out, but I just had the LBS re-dish the wheel keeping flo's tension specs, and it is all good now. Mine was perfectly out, so with a brake adjustment I used it for my first race, then had it re-dished, so it was setup the right way.

To be honest it was never an issue on the P3 as the adjustable dropouts were just adjusted to centre it and it was nice and square.

Having now had a bit more of a look with google and checked the bike a bit more thoroughly it does appear to also have adjustable ones so i'll be giving them a twiddle and see what it looks like. I need to stick the 60 back in and have a look to see if the rubbing is more to do with the stops being out but the 60 being shallower so it didnt show up or if the 90 is actually needing to be re-dished

I have a 2015 B12 with Flo 60 / 90 combo and no issue. LBS swapped wheels during a tune-up, they had to adjust the rear brake to get it sorted. They had to pop out the crank to get at screws on brake, but after all said and done it's great. Seemed like a little work, but I'm no wrench.

BTW - I run with Conti GP4000 SII (23's but seem like 25s on the Flo rims) not much extra clearance but no issues (no rubbing, etc....)

Got the stem...shipped without bolts so I will have to make a plan. Haven't been on the tri bike in months (training for an ultra marathon at the moment) so havent even tried fitting it.

Here's my most recent project, and my first bike build from the frame up. I wanted an aero road bike so I sold my trusty Canondale and bought a used 2015 Felt AR frame off ebay. Other than the etap setup and the Vector 3 pedals just about everything else is second hand, ebay, local facebook cyclist group purchases. I'm VERY pleased with it. 16.3 pounds of aero goodness as pictured. Rides like a dream. The problem with this bike is it makes me want to flip my tri bike to electronic shifting as well and my wallet needs a rest!

Negatives? If you can make it fit I'm not sure there are many. You're going to be limited in how low you can go with your pads and reach is a bit shorter as well. Now, you can compensate for both with negative rise stems and stems of varying length, but then you're weight is going to be pretty far forward.

Also, the AR is going to be a lot twitchier than something like it's older brother the Da. This is a good thing with drop bars, but not sure that is something I want in my TT rig.

Lastly, the AR is a phenomenal road bike. It does everything about as well as it can be done. You'd be losing that by making it a TT rig.

This last point is why I have both an AR and Da. ;)

I'd advise against the ceramic speed stuff and either pocket the cash or put it towards something with a more significant speed benefit. But that's just me ;)

It might also be worth considering whether you'd be better off with either a shallower or deeper rear wheel than the 88. I got a similar pairing to that for my tri bike a while back (62.5mm front, 85mm rear) and have been very happy with it, but in retrospect either 62.5mm front and rear with a wheel cover as a disc option might have been a better choice. Reason being, any conditions where the 85mm is okay (which is always in my experience to date) would also be fine for a disc, which would be faster. Any conditions not okay for a disc would also not suit the 85mm rear, but a 62.5mm rear might be okay. Two 62.5mm wheels would also make a slightly preferable match for my road bike (although 62.5/85 is fine) and the cover is a minor extra cost to cover all the bases.

Here's my 2012 B16 in full pre-ironman race prep mode.

I think the only original items are the frame(!), derailleurs, shifters, brake levers and front brake. Rear wheel is a Yoeleo SAT C88, and the front is a Flo 60 alu/carbon. The Torhans frame bottle is great for holding a spare tube and tools, and the DarkSpeedWorks bento fits a good number of gels.

It's still a nice ride, and I've never felt it's really holding me back - not as much as my own legs do anyway!

Just bought some Flo 60/90's to train on or race on depending on wind/pavement. Look great, can't wait to ride. GP5000 and latex, 23mm front 25mm rear. Still on the 54t 1x setup. Need to trim the extensions, I'm not using all that. I rest my forearms on the pads mostly.

On my older 50mm wheels, I had the Chung math on this setup with a road helmet and cyclocross skinsuit pegged at the .225 to .230 range. Can't wait to try it with the BP 3.3 skinsuit in the closet and the race helmet and shoes/socks. Gonna freaking fly.

Still need to get a clear picture of my setup, but here's a picture of me in action this season.
Since the picture, I've swapped out the EnergyLab 90's for HED Jet Black 90's, and borrow the FLO from a friend when needed. Running PowerTap pedals, Xlab aero bottle, XLab bottle cages behind the saddle, S-works trivent 2.0 saddle, and Garmin 520 Plus computer. Tires are GP5000's in 25 mm with latex tubes. Everything else is stock on the bike (for now).

I'd like to transition from a 172.5 mm crank to 165 mm but unsure what cranksets are compatible with my BB, or what modifications I would need to do to switch to a non-compatible crankset. I'm pretty savy with equipment but BB stuff confuses me! Can anyone help out with what they have done to move to a shorter crank? Current crank is Vision Trimax 52/36 with a FSA MegaExo BB (I think so anyways).

What other upgrades do you recommend? Currently looking at a ski bar style aero bar extension and other ways to help me get lower on the front end. Would love to get Ceramic speed OSPW but don't think it's in the budget right now.
