That looks like a fairly straightforward fix. What tools do you have with you? Assuming that's the 3D crank it comes off with just two Allen keys, both of which are on a multi-tool. Having got the crank off you could tap it back into place fairly easily. Alternatively it's a quick fix for a shop. I'm sure one of the Auckland locals could help. Try sending Fulla ? a PM. I may be wrong but have a feeling he's Auckland.
Edit. Having looked more closely I don't think that is the 3D so I'm not sure how it comes off. I've spoken to someone involved with organising the tri and Giant should be on site as they are the games bike sponsor so it may be worth heading to the venue tomorrow.
