Someone once described it this way: if White Privilege were a super power, it would be the power of invisibility. I think that's the most applicable analogy I've heard. White men in particular can navigate society, economic and power structures, without their skin color or gender becoming obstacles. That in no way implies that things are handed to them (us), just that it rarely if ever inhibits our progress. She and I talked about that analogy before, and she seemed to agree with that analysis.

The idea of Black Privilege is almost as silly as how most people understand White Privilege. To the extent that it exist, it does so only in context of a framework that disadvantages, to one degree or another, blacks and minorities. It's like saying "Black Privilege is getting your own colleges and universities without being viewed as racist" while ignoring the reason they emerged in the first place.
