I've been reading DCR but he doesn't seem to address the functionality of downloading routes too well, unless I'm just missing it entirely.
As far as I know, the 520 will not be able to tell you "turn left on Maple St" because it does not understand the map that you download from Strava and similar.
However,RidewithGPS includes course-points that indicate "Turn on Maple St". It is NOT the device figuring it out, it is additional information that RidewithGPS includes in their download. So, you can have those cues IF you get your map from RidewithGPS.
The 8xx series (and 1000) on the other hand, can actually read the map and come up with their own determination of "Turn right on Maple St.
One place you may notice the difference is that the 8xx and 1000 will have street names in the base maps.The included basemap in the 520 does not, but can be replaced with an open street map. I do not believe the Wahoo Elemnt displays street names nor has the ability for additional basemaps.
