Thinking big, what are your dream races or events? If you were to have whatever time off of work you need and the budget, what would you choose?
Here are mine:
Spartathlon
Rim to Rim to Rim Grand Canyon run (Doing this next year)
Badwater 135
Marathon De Sables
Hardrock 100

Comrades
in a heartbeat.
I almost registered for 2007 but then health issues crept in and seriously derailed my training. I did notice that 2013 is an "up" year... and entries open Sept 1st... ;-)
After that: IM Lanzarote.

Comrades is a good one. That should have been on my list.

Dawn is right, I'd add AmZof long course too. In fact I got the "early reg" email today for AmZof... sigh. Such a great event.

If I was still doing triathlon I'd put Norseman on the list. Brutal race but wow, how cool is that? Also Ultraman. Can't handle that much time on a bike though.

Ultraman would be cool if I could do it as a relay with P. No more relays tho.
Another one I'd add is TransRockies MTB. That looks AMAZING.
And a third cool one would be the ultra up in the Arctic during summer, I can't remember the name of it, but it's ~90k and you basically chase the sun the entire time. Last I recall it was $12K to enter (which included your travel & accoms).

How timely. Just got back from a ride. I can ride pain free out of aero, so that's what I'm doing now. Additionally, I'm thinking today might be my last day on roids (as something I was too embarrassed to post earlier cause I was sure teh boyz would be saying I had crabs and calling me a whore) was I've been Wickedly Itchy in the crotch for months and finally figured out it was a derm reaction to one of the creams I was using. It was absolutely awful and I was going nutz trying to figure it out until I finally saw the welts go away with 1 little 50mg pill of prednisone. I'm on day 3 of roids and this is the first night I haven't been itching like mad (the last two nights the rash/welts came back in lessening degrees). I didn't push being in aero tonight as right now my goal is to get more kms in the saddle and aero is on the back burner. I also had some angel gift me an Adamo and I'm now just waiting for a mule to bring it down. So, pain free out of aero and much more comfortable without a crotch full of rash, hives and welts. Who knew? :)

Dude, you are the most bad ass woman ever. The stuff you have been dealing with and still getting out and riding. Kudos.

Not a race or event but currently my biggest goal is to get full (or at least functional) range of motion back in my forearm, wrist, and hand. After that-
HURT 100
a mountain 100 miler (both foot and mountain bike)
to BQ at a marathon course considered "hard"

OK...
qualify for the Boston marathon.
Do IM Kona
Travel to Europe and do a bunch of the famous Tour climbs (TDF and/or Giro)
Since I now have proper iron levels, it seems like what I thought were my limits have been moved. It's exciting to think I now am not sure what I'm capable of... I can't wait to see what I can do - I finally see improvements from my hard work, plus I'm having SO MUCH FUN!

epic dartmouth. it'd get my husband back to his home (nova scotia), and i'd love to take a week after the race to visit his family around the cabot trail.
would like to do a rim to rim to rim as well, but not as a race - just tanker and i kicking along with a tent.
really, my dreams are more "active vacation" than race-based.
cheers!
