BMC TM01 Chain rubbing on seat stay

Ive got a new TM01 and when i am in the 53 11 the chain rubs on the seat stay.
A friend of mine also has this problem with his bike and we both run dura ace cranks. With DA BB
Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a fault withnthe frame design?

I noticed that on my bike as well. It's not a BMC though. I think designers might keep the tolerances very tight on aero frames.
I never get into the 53x11 gear though. :(

Try removing or going to a thinner spacer on the freehub body. Readjust the stops and cable tension and it should clear. It is a tight fit.

I think it's a problem with the frame. I saw the team mechanic taking a file(!) to Andreas Raelerts frame before IM Kona last year to gouge out some clearance from the seatstay. I figured it was a prototype frame. Guess not...
I wonder if it's a DA frame issue though. Because there's a BB30 frame as well that you'd use if you want to run SRAM.

I have a TM01 and BMC sent me specific part/spacer for that problem. I work at a San Diego bike shop and maybe they can tell you what they did to my bike that solved that problem.

This is then clearly a design fault with the frame, on my friends bike it's started to cut into the frame which is dangerous as it will weaken the set stay. We have contacted BMC Australia directly to see what they say. When you spend thousands of $$ on a top end frame you shouldn't have issues like this. I will post up what they say

I have it too. I'm trying out a 12-25 cassette for tomorrow to see if that makes a difference. I somehow doubt it.
Mine is cutting into the seat stay as well. Kind of scary.

Out of the box with the stock DT wheels, there wasn't a problem. But when my LBS (Element multisport in Chi) put on my 404s, the chain started rubbing in the highest gears. They contacted BMC directly and got a fix from them, and I haven't had an issue since -- this was about 6 months ago). Not sure what it is, but they are very aware of the issue, so if you contact Element, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

I have spoken to BMC
BMC have a solution for the problem.
They have designed a replacement derailleur hanger which moves the chain away from the seat stay, you need to talk to your BMC dealer and they will get the part for you free of charge
