Are Zipps 808 front / 1080 back a good choice for Vegas?

I raced SRAM s80s last year. And did just fine. They are heavier than 808/1080's. So you should be golden

I went with 808/Disc. Course isn't THAT hilly.

I think main factor for determining front wheel on that course is the wind/gusts out and back in the Lake Mead area. The gusts can be severe in the ravines and when cresting hills on that part of the course; going from calm to 15+mph. 808 or disk in the rear is fine. I rode 808 front last year and wish I used a 404; not for less weight but b/c of the wind gusts. Depends on your size also of course. I'm only 140 lbs so I'm more sensitive to wind grabbing the front wheel. If you can handle the 808 in the wind then no problem.

I went with a Hed Jet 90 front and Disc rear with no problem. It's not overly hilly or windy, so there's no reason not to go with the fastest setup possible.

I ran 404/Disc. Definitely disc rear next time and either 808 (non firecrest) or 1080 front. Firecrest 808 would be perfect front IMO I would def use that if I had one.

I went disc rear S80 front and only had a problem with one gust on the last downhill in Lake Mead. Other then that I was fine.
