I lost a friend to cancer. He rec'd some nice support from Livestrong during his battle. I will continue to wear mine.
I am sincerely interested in hearing about the support he received. We all like to point out that LS doesn't fund research. Dan's article didn't really make clear where the money was going (sorry Dan, maybe I just suck at reading). So, what support did your friend get? Did he have to reach out or did LS come to him?

I would have to speak with family members to get the exact details of how Livestrong became involved during my friend's battle with cancer. I am not sure if the connection was made thru the medical center that he was being treated at or if a family member reached out to Livestrong. I do know that a representative of Livestrong contacted the family and am pretty sure someone made a personal visit to the hospital. They provided informational material to the family regarding treatment and cure of cancer, gave them an idea of what to expect during treatment etc etc. Alot of if I am sure was a duplication of information that they had already received from health care providers but the support still helped. I also know they gave him a gift pack of things like blankets, sweatshirts, beanie etc. Basically they were just another resource to both provide information as well as emotional support during the treatment of the disease. Again, I don't have all the details but the family spoke highly of Livestrong during his illness.

than anyone else. Doping is still bad but raising millions for a worthy cause is still good. A good person can do bad things just like a bad person can still do good things.
Yes I'll keep mine.
Fixed that for you.

I don't wear one. Not for any sort of protest, just that my charitable efforts have gone in other directions. If it helps people then it's good. Unfortunately, my first thought when seeing somebody with one is that they jumped on the Lance bandwagon. Which is probably wrong a large percentage of the time.

I have cancer in my family (my grandmother right now) but I don't think she needs to see me wearing a yellow bracelet to know I support her.
I also find it a little silly that people need to show they are against cancer, everyone is against cancer. Even if you asked the most evil SOB in the world he would be against cancer.
I'd much rather see my donations go to research in the treatment and prevention of cancer rather than some nebulous "awareness." I also don't have any experience with Livestrong as an support organization so I can't speak much to that end of their charity

I was never going to wear one when they came out. I didn't want to be like everyone else. Then my dad got Cancer, I put one on and haven't taken it off for about 3 and half years, when it broke i got another one immediately and have a spare if this one breaks.

I wear one to help fight cancer and in support of Lance. I was never a big Lance fan until my mother-in law got cancer. She read his book and it gave her hope. I read the book and had a new opinion of Lance. GO Lance GO. Oh and I also wear a Livestrong hat to show support.

Simple rules, do you still wear a yellow bracelet and if so will you cut it off if he is found guilty and banned by USADA? Yes or No answers.
Until I joined ST I had no idea these were Lance bands. My dad gave us all one when he was diagnosed (prostate and bladder). I couldn't stand the feeling of the rubber on my wrist, however, and replaced it with a cloth band. Unfortunately that one has been joined by a 2nd wrist band for my sister (leiomyoma). I've just recently been thinking of something to replace them as they're getting a little ratty but they remind me daily of what my family members are going through and keep them in my mind (especially when I don't want to do X).

x2 and when it breaks I'll get another one. It has nothing to do with whether Lance doped or not.

Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
