1:29 good enough for the win at Fly-by-night?

I'd suggest you crush Rev3 and use your "excuse"

See you then.

15 hours. Also learned a new training mantra - "The goal is to get faster and stronger, not to see who can get the most tired."

Swim: 10, 600m
Bike 130 miles
Run: 34 miles

About 16 hrs.

I'm doing a half in a week-and-a-half, and IM Louisville in August.

I was told that the most important part of training is recovery. So, I just spared myself the aggravation of training and sat on my ass instead. Amazingly, I'm still not fat. Purple patch has nothing on me.

My plan for 2013 is coming together in genius fashion: don't train + don't eat + don't sleep = podium.

Yep - I've had this race circled for a long time - since Labor Day when the RD kicked my a$$ at Skinnyman.

Looking back, the results intrigued me. 2 years ago you and Kuhl seemed a lot faster than last year - different run course or bad weather (or pre race bbq?)

I'm flying without any instrumentation at the moment, but the classic slowtwitch answer would obviously be 28*25=700, right? :P

the race hasn't been the same once in the past 4-5 times i've done it. this year it's 2 weeks early.

Haha, if you have a Master's degree then you have the necessary credibility to write pompous articles in triathlon mags about how quality your recovery is and beat Matt at his own game!

Hmmm ... *thumbs through pile of papers on desk* ... here it is - my master's degree. I knew that I had one. Now, where do I go to get payed?! Do I really have to write articles, or can I just get away with plagiarizing a bunch of stuff off the 'net? The latter would be so much easier.

Re: What was your training volume last week? [burnman] [In reply to] Quote | Reply

What's to plagiarize? Just drum up a name for your "company", like I dunno, "MagentaPatch" (hmmm, "PinkPatch"?), and start writing about your recovery protocol and how great you feel, how it has substantially benefitted your performance (in triathlon...), and that everyone should do it this way. Be sure to write it in a tone that implies that you are unique in your genius intuition.

If you really feel the need to put some effort in, find some study that can be interpreted to justify your protocol. And oh, don't forget to add those three letters after your name to establish "credibility".

I think that's pretty much all you need to publish in the lay triathlon press these days!

Swim: 4400m
Bike: ~72 miles (5 singletrack, 1 MTB crash, 24 race miles)
Run: 17 miles (4 trails, 9.3 race miles)

Total: about 8 hours. I had to ballpark some of the rides as I don't record everything.
2:25:46 of that was a long course (10km/40km/5km) duathlon, with 3200 feet of elevation gain (one climb on the bike was 1100ft!).

I'm still building up, I've got Boulder 70.3 in August and IM Wales in Sept. Feels like I'm on target.
