Newb question on grease

I'm working on building up a bike from the frame up (for the 1st time in my life) and was wondering if there is any differences in the grease I should be using or if anyone has any suggestions of a favorite kind they like to use. Seeing as how there are many different kinds, I just wanted to make sure I was using the best stuff. Thanks!

get a one pound tub of synthetic grease from the autoparts store and one of those cartridge grease guns with the needle nose and you should be set forever. while you are there you might want to get a small parts dip bucket of solvent and a parts cleaning brush and perhaps some of those nice nitro rubber gloves
depending on your bike materials, also buy some anti seize, they sell it by the tube.

I used the auto grease that was laying around the workbench a couple of times, but it doesn't work very well, tends to be too thick and stiff for bikes.
A tube of
this
has lasted through 3 bike builds and a couple of wheel bearing repacks, it holds up well.
Really can't go wrong with any of the bike-specific greases, bikes are not a very demanding application grease-wise..

yep, this is what I do ---- a 3 oz tube of bike specific lube is the same price as a tub at Walmart or AutoZone

makes getting spark plugs back out a lot easier too. There's also stuff called friction paste for carbon posts that slip
