scott plasma xxs - calling othegrch and extrafood

Help, I'm trying to get stack & reach on the Scott Plasma XXS (47cm) and I just can't find it anywhere! I saw a couple folks here have that bike - any chance you guys know? Also I'm very interested in hearing about how that bike handles - I test rode another bike in a similar size and it had really slow steering that made it very difficult to control. Any comments on the Scott handling, as well as comparing to other very short reach bikes, welcome.
I'm 5'2" and female, looking for stack/reach of about 480/360, if anyone has any other ideas.
Thanks!!!

A plasma XXS should work for you. You may need to go to a relatively short stem, though. Handling on the Scotts is as good as it gets.
Your options are going to be either a bike that is too big for you or a bike that fits better, but is a little slower handling. At speed, the handling should not be an issue, so get the one that fits better.

Hi valygrl
The stack and reach numbers are on
http://www.scott-sports.com
. I love this bike! Its stiff, light, comfortable (fits me well), and the spec was right on. Some may have a problem with the 700c wheels and getting low enough, not me (I'm using a -17 ventus, modified to fit).
At our size (I'm 5'5" with 29" in seam) toe overlap is an issue, but never been a problem. My road bike is the same thing with 700c and toe overlap, so whatever. I race with hed jet 6/9.
Sorry, I have to get to work or I would post the numbers for you. Good luck and PM me if there's any thing else i can help with .

Thanks othegrch. I can't find stack and reach on Scott's site (they have it for the Foil but not the Plasma) - so if you know where to find it or could copy-paste or measure that would be a huge favor to me!!!! Handling OK on that bike? I know about toe overlap, I have that on my road bike, and I'm not worried about it. Sounds like you don't have other handling issues, right?

road2tri - wondering if you are speaking from experience on that size? the other bike i mentioned is known for being just fine in the regular sizes and a mess in XS.

Sorry stuck with my iPhone at work. The bike handles perfect. I honestly feel as comfortable with it as my road bike, and I'm fearless on technical descents. That,of course is individual and may be different for others. I got used to the difference from my road bike after a few rides. As for the numbers they are available on the Scott site as a download. If you click on the bike picture then click the geometry tag it should come up. It not I'll try to get it to you later today. I'm not very computer savvy (sorry I stink I know) :-)

I'm really glad to hear the handling is good! I still can't find the numbers, the geometry chart doesn't show reach and stack as far as I can see - but it's certainly possible I'm just missing it somehow.
If you have a chance to look, at your convenience, that would be awesome, but if not no worries, you've already been more than helpful.

Hi, the Scott rode extremely well. Very compliant, stiff in the BB area and would decend as well as any other TT specific bike. Still pretty sure you would have trouble getting the seat low enough as we spoke before, I had it almost bottomed out. Really look at Cervelo or Trek's WSD frames they both should work.
Good luck.

Oh darn! The Scott site was just geometry (I didn't look close enough) sorry. If you check out the stack/ reach guide here on ST and click the "archive" ,you'll find the stack/reach for a 49XS. I very carefully measured my 47xxs (perfectly level frame and with a level) and got a stack of 49.8 and reach of 36.6. The 49xs is 50.4/ 37.9 . I don't understand why it's so hard to find this info. Maybe they don't like Lollypop Guilders ;-)
Best of luck with your bike hunt!

Phew, I'm not blind or crazy! I hugely appreciate your taking the time to measure your frame. Those numbers are just on the edge for me - it might be a hair too big or it might work.

Update: I bought the Scott today, it finally came in to my LBS and I test rode it. Final fit next week, but it was well within the tolerance of my rough fit without resorting to any weirdness, and it handles great. Funny how much you appreciate things like being able to ride in a straight line, drink, signal, look over your shoulder, when you've tried a bike where you can't do that stuff.
Got the stock Plasma 20, XXS.
Thanks for the help.
