problem transferring data from 910xt

hi
My 910 pairs with the ANT USB (on a MAC) and a box comes up saying it has successfully transferred data. When I log in to Garmin Connect, in Dashboard it says it hasn't received my data yet ?
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

I had the same problem with my 310 XT. Get out the owners manual and read about the "FORCE SEND" ( I think that's what its called anyway). That fixed my problem.

Did that fix help?
If not then.
I think that the Device Agent transfers data to a folder.
The Garmin Communicator Plugin then facilitates transfer from that folder to Garmin Connect the next time you log in. (Have you downloaded the Garmin Communicator Plugin?)
Check that both the Device Agent and Garmin Communicator Plugins are up to date.
Click the Garmin Mickey Mouse Agent icon in the task bar and select 'Preferences' Check that 'Always' tickbox is selected under the Send Data to Garmin heading.
If both Device Agent and Garmin Communicator are installed and both up to date then check the following folder:
Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/[device id]/History
Note: In the locations above, items in brackets "[ ]" would be replaced with your actual user name and device ID number. Recent versions of the ANT agent will store up to the previous month's worth of downloads before they start to be overwritten. On Windows computers, the application data folders are hidden by default and you will need to enable the viewing of hidden files in your folder options before you will be able to see these items.
Is your file in there?
Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply.
I checked the folder:
Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/[device id]/History
as suggested, and the files are there. If I goto Garmin Connect and do an upload using the Communicator Plug-in then the data transfers fine. The ANT agent does say it has successfully transferred data after pairing with my 910, just doesn't upload it to Connect......

Ok, next steps.
Just to clarify:
You can upload the data to your computer via ANT Agent. The file appears in your folder. You go to Garmin Connect but it is not picking it up. You then choose Upload from the Garmin Connect website and the file then does upload.
Off the top of my head I can see a couple of potential issues. But can you answer the following.
Is the Communicator Plugin up to date?
Did you successfully use another device with Garmin Connect before the 910?
Did you just upload the ANT Agent and Communicator Plugin or did you have it there a while before you got the 910?
Is that the first time you tried to upload from the 910?
Is the problem on going? Have you tried more than one file upload?
Was the file originally there but deleted from Garmin Connect and you are trying to re-upload? (Have to ask!)
When directed to the file Garmin Connect seems to find it okay. The issue is either with the Communicator Plugin either not trying to send or not recognising the Garmin Connect account you are signed into or looking in the wrong folder to send. The file is present so eveything up to downloading the data into the folder works fine. Garmin Connect works fine and also you are able to find the file manually and transfer it so that works fine too. The issue is likely the Communicator Plugin.
Delete that and the prefs and re-install a clean version.
Open Finder
Select Macintosh HD
Open Library
Open Internet Plug-Ins
Select GarminGpsControl.plugin and Trash it
Select Receipts from the Library menu
Select garmingpscontrol.pkg and Trash it
Select the user home folder
Open Library
Open Preferences
Select com.garmin.GarminGpsControl and Trash it
Then go to the Garmin website and re-download a fresh
Communicator Plugin. That will replace everything you binned with a clean install.

just an update for any other MAC users having the problem i was.
Having now updated my OS to Lion 10.7.3 my 910XT transfers the data via the ANT agent USB and uploads to Garmin Connect, no problems. So, not sure if this was the problem or the threat of me launching both my MAC and my 910XT into the garden that fixed the problem.......

I am still on Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and everything works ok. What were you on before?
Glad you got it sorted. Seems there was another issue than Garmin at work here.

I was running 10.7.2 before. Interesting, it starting to work coincided with a RAM and storage upgrade as well. Although, I can't see how that would have changed things.....
Thanks for your advice.

I don't have the directory that you reference for finding missing files. Any other possible directories?

Do you have any of that folder path? If so where does it stop?

Oddly enough, I have no directory called "library" under my username that I can see. The only way I can navigate to a "library" folder is to do so directly under the Mac HD heading and the garmin folder contained in there is useless as it only goes to folders called "maps" and "garmin ANT agent."
Any commonality stops after Macintosh HD/Users/myusername
I've tried to find this directory as suggested on Garmin site but had no luck:
<username>/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Devices/<device ID>/BadFitFiles
I swear I found it previously on my machine but am wondering if something has changed the access rights to hide some folders....

Update the 910xt firmware, that helped with my downloading and ANT+ communication issues.

Yeah, I updated it. I'm essentially just trying to find a corrupt file in the mac software now.

The Library folder is hidden by default in Lion. Follow the instructions here:
http://osxdaily.com/...ry-in-mac-os-x-lion/
Once you've done that, drag the folder to the menu bar on the right and leave it there as a shortcut -
By all means have a plan, but the best plan is to have a plan to change the plan.

Apologies. I should have checked the OS. I am running Snow Leopard until Mountain Lion rears its head.

Thanks, that worked great to find the hidden folders. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the Garmin file was even pulled into any of those folders. Garmin Connect detects it being on the watch, manual and force send don't work and it apparently isn't even getting to the computer to be ready for a send to Connect. Bummer!

Looks like I did actually find the file in the activities folder but for some reason it won't open in Garmin Connect with a manual upload.

For the 910xt, when my watch won't automatically transfer (which is maybe 10% of the time - and more frequently of late) I've always found restarting my computer drives the transfer. Has worked every time so far.
