Now the army dumps Ted Quote | Reply

Don't blame them one bit. Besides, Ted is the ultimate chickenhawk.

(Reuters) - The U.S. Army cut rock musician and gun-rights advocate Ted Nugent from a summer concert program at Fort Knox, Kentucky, on the same day he met with two U.S. Secret Service agents over recent comments he made about President Barack Obama.
Nugent was scheduled to perform on June 23, but officials at Fort Knox said on Thursday the singer and guitarist would not be in the lineup with co-headliners REO Speedwagon and Styx.
"After learning of opening act Ted Nugent's recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation," the Fort Knox family and morale, welfare and recreation group said on its Facebook page.
It was the latest twist for the Michigan-born conservative entertainer, who in court papers filed on Friday agreed to plead guilty to a federal wildlife violation for killing one black bear too many during an Alaska hunting trip.
Ticket holders for the Fort Knox concert at Godman Army Airfield were offered refunds.
Nugent, who is best known for hit 1970s songs including "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Motor City Madhouse," drew attention from the U.S. Secret Service because of remarks he made about Obama and administration officials at a National Rifle Association convention last week.

I think you not so secretly have the hots for Mr. Nugent. You certainly seem obsessed. Here, tape this to your ceiling.

Well, he's a made in America product for sure. He used to hunt in Canada until Ontario banned the spring bear hunt and then he tried to organize an American boycott against Canada. LOL!! He's welcome to stay south of our border. He's the kind of American tourist we don't need.

...under threat from an Obama admin. official, no doubt.

It's simple, but it isn't easy.

The opening act for REO Speedwagon and Styx at Ft. Knox? In 2012?

If this is the best gig Ted Nugent can get these days, "fading rock star" is an understatement.

Some say "I can". Others say "I can't". Both manage to be correct.

LOL, indeed. Boycott of Canada seems kind of silly at best. What is there in Canada to boycott? You guys don't even produce anything up there. Tourism? Please. We have Alaska.

Openly disparaging the commander-in-chief, or, per the Hatch Act, anyone who is running for public office, is not at all OK in the military. So offering someone a forum to do so in front of thousands of troops can get you in a world of shit. Maybe Nugent would have held his tongue, but his recent comments call that into question. Too risky if you're the base commander. Would you invite someone to come speak at your office if you knew they were likely to openly heap scorn on your boss?

I'm not a Nugent fan, but I'd pay to see him long before paying to see REO Speedwagon or Styx. At least he rocks.

I'm actually more disturbed that he would be associated on the same stage with those acts than with anything political he says or does.

We get oil from Canada. Pretty hard to boycott that though, since most people refuse to walk anywhere. So we always buy oil from folks we don't like.

Seems fitting, though I'm inclined to believe most soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines side with the nudge. But he needs to be held accountable for the stupid stuff he has a habit of saying.

Using "army", "dump" and "Ted Nugent" in a story has most likely been done year ago.

Isn't a chickenhawk an older gay man looking to snag a younger gay man?
