Hey everyone
Just wondering if anyone came across or know of any compatibility issues with a 09 specialized tarmac s-works and a Zipp FC wheel. I usually use the FCs on my tri bike but tried them on my roadie for the heck of it. I noticed the rear (FC 808) hit the inside of the non-drive side horizontal chain stay when I got out of the saddle or sprint. There was no damage to the wheel but there would absolutely be some if I continued doing so.

Does the firecrest line as a whole have a compatibility issue with the s-works? Is it just the 808 or would a rear 303 or 404 create the same issue? or maybe is it an issue with the wheel or alignment or something else? A

I appreciate the help.

Mike

I realize this might sound silly but are you sure your skewer was properly tightened?

Yeah, I am not 100% sure. I didn't really do a mechanical check when I noticed it just because I was short on time and switched wheels when I got home to finish my workout. It isn't something I normally do though.

It didn't have any contact with the chain stay when I was just spinning. It was only getting out of the saddle and putting a little torque through the bike.

I tried the 303 fc on my 09 sl2 and it doesn't work. It rubbed.
