Why is Boston's "Long Time" not on that list?

^^^ THIS ^^^

I still get chills when I hear the into to Thunderstruck. My unit in the Gulf was "Task Force Thunder" and I was assigned to 2/70 AR, known as the "Thunder Brigade." During our deployment and re-deployment ceremony, they would play the opening so loud the ground would shake. Then, when we took the field, it shook even more.

Interestingly, last night my wife was helping me put togther my Rock Standard and we got Boston and I said, "Long Time has the most bad ass intro ever!" and then I played it and made her sit and listen.

The best part is definitely when it gets quiet and then the grand piano comes in. I used to know how to play that lick.

Yeah......that might be the best ever.

Everytime I hear that intro (like 30sec before the OP), I think, "holy crap, 25 years into their career and those bad asses can still write!"

Thunderstruck is awesome. I was a big Arturo Gatti fan, he always entered the ring with that.

But if you wanted to pick either of the other two to start my funeral with I wouldn't complain.

Consistent with LR practice, I'm going to ignore the question you asked and say that I'd vote for the opening bars of "Love Spreads" by The Stone Roses.

All good. None as good as Welcome To The Jungle's intro, though. Great intro to the song, the album, and for most, the band.

"Pray for Villains" by Devildriver. I think that'd be a badass song for an MMA intro.

My vote is for Thunderstruck. Like JSA, I have a similar reason...my squadron I deployed with to Thumrait for OIF was the 34th Bomb Squadron Thunderbirds, and that was our theme song.

I do really like Long Time by Boston as well.

I've always been partial to Gut Feeling by Devo.

Honorable mention to Rock and Roll by Lou Reed (from the live album)
