Nugent said he was just speaking figuratively when he made what some perceived to be threats against Obama and that he didn't threaten anyone's life or advocate violence.
"Metaphors needn't be explained to educated people," he said.
See, I read it the other way and that Ted backed off and is really just a sissy at heart. (Not sure if we have a color for blatant trolling but we should.)

This.

If he had the balls he claims to have, he'd have stood behind his original rant and its obvious "metaphorical" intent.

Or maybe he could have just shit in his pants for when the Secret Service showed up.

Nugent is just the embodiment of the rhetoric of the far right. He's their musical metaphor.
No problem, we've got Bruce Springsteen. http://blog.nj.com/...ruce_springstee.html

I thought you had already annointed Kanye West for that job?

Here are two lists of liberal and conservative musicians for comparison. Take your pick.

Liberal: http://www.debatepolitics.com/...l-rock-bands-16.html

Why does "anti-war" always equal "liberal"? What if you are anti-war because it costs lots of government money and usually involves the exercise of lots of big government power?

Being anti-war is not always equated with being liberal.
The author of that blog just made that assumption.

However, it is hard to think of any contemporary right wing anti-war music.

Conservative leaning musicians may see the support of war as one's patriotic duty.
In recent history, liberals have been more inclined to challenge that concept.

Personally I think Ted's comments border on (if not cross right into) encouraging others to commit illegal acts. This goes beyond free speech in my opinion.

Then of course theres Ms Palin's targets. Like the 4th name down on the list.
