New bike or wheels?

I currently have a 2010 P2 and have been planning to get wheels or sell and get a DA3. I am just looking for input from others on what they would do.
1. Keep the P2 and get a Hed Jet disc/60 combo
2. Buy the DA3 and get a wheelbuilder cover for the rear. I have read on ST that the TT2 wheelset is "OK" not great but good enough.

But you know that's not what you want to do, so just quit stalling, cut the crap, and buy the DA3, wheelcover, and HED 60. Though, I would get a 90.

Or you could just save some money and get a wheel cover for your P2 with a deep front and save yourself the $1000 from the disk and get a Powertap.

I'd get the wheels if your primary concern is getting faster. If, on the other hand, you just want a new bike (nothing wrong with this, by the way) then get to the new bike.

This was my original thought but I do have the stock Shimano wheels right now so I already have to buy a new rear if I want to get a wheelcover so I would just buy a disc so I can use the stocker for training. The only other option that I can think of would be to get a 60/90 set and a cover for the 90. From what I have read that may actually be the best option.

I second the PowerTap wheel with cover and a deep front. A wheelcover will be nearly as fast as a disk and if you are willing to learn to use the powermeter you will be able to improve alot. Def keep the p2 though; that's already a great bike!

I've hung out on this forum long enough to know that the P2 is a great bike, and very aero. The DA is also a great bike, and very aero. Any aerodynamic difference between the bikes will pale in comparison to slight changes in body position, water bottles, tires, etc. And- I think these two bikes fit roughly the same.
so- what exactly is your reason to buy a new bike?
If your goal is to race faster> Bike fit. Power tap with cover or disc. Aero front wheel (long discussion on which one has been had 100 times). Aero and low Crr tires with latex.
but there's this other thing. if you buy a new bike- you'll probably be motivated to ride more. if you ride more- you'll be faster come race day.
so- new bike = faster!

If your going to do this just get a quarq and deep wheels now and then a disc next year; you will save in the long run. No need to pay for 2 powertap race wheels.

So powertap Plus 404.. but skip the $90 wheelcover which is proven faster than not? Wheel cover on regular rim with PT is faster than 404 with PT.... And a lot cheaper if you want to save money.
BTW... i love passing people with disk wheels, that whoomp whoomp whoomp makes the pass so much better :)
