2012 SRAM Red Quarq release date?

Hi, no news from SRAM or Quarq about a definite release date for the GXP or BB30...
Quarq's twitter account has been v quiet and nothing new on their blog. The original date for the release of the GXP version was 1 April. BB30 was some time later in April.

Have you tried e-mailing them? They pretty much respond to e-mail or gChat requests pretty much instantly (don't see them online at this second however).

I spoke with them last week and I was told that the BB30 version that I was inquiring about would be available around May 1st.

SRAM Red Quarq powermeters (130 BCD, GXP and BB30) are now shipping from the factory in Spearfish, SD into SRAM's distribution network. You should see them showing up on bikes in the wild any day now. Compact 110 BCD (both GXP and BB30) should start shipping in May. There is initially a backlog of orders to work through, but we should have production meeting demand before too long.

Available crank lengths are currently 170mm, 172.5mm, 175mm and 177.5mm.

Is the Cinco spider different than the last ones? I ask because I currently have the 975 SRAM version and it does not fit on my BB86 press-fit shell/BB combo

We've been shipping the 130 BCD versions for about a month now. Compact 110 BCD version should be shipping soon. There is still quite a backlog to work through, but your dealer should be able to place an order. They can't order directly from Quarq in Spearfish and will need to order through their SRAM distributor / dealer.

Yes, the SRAM Red Quarq spider is quite a bit different than the S975 version. See here:

. This one has more clearance on the back of it which should allow it to clear most of the frames that the S975 version wouldn't.
