The new peddie facility, they have had the divider out all week. Unfortinatly i was only able to make it there twice. Have to swim again today but unfortunatly (fortunatly also) i have my son and his friend so it is off to the golds gym so they can be in the childcare area. I will probably finish only half of workout because of only having three lanes in that pool and the water buffalo water dance course that is ongoing andntakes up two lanes for three people floundering about.
Edit:
I dont know why it took me so long to look but..... I just checked long course pools in NJ and princeton has one ( Denunzio pool).....DUH!!! My wife works there and i can use it , i think. Might be doing more long course swimming not

Dara inspired workout with stretch cords ;-) Starting swim taper too.
4 x 200 (Sw / Dr / K / Dr
6 x 50 Free @ :50
Stations:
Stretch Cord (small) Kick Interval - 6 x 30"on/30"off
Stretch Cord Swim (Make it to end of 25m) 3 x 25 Swim (Free/Brst/Fly)
Finis Tempo Trainer - 400 Swim @ goal pace (Only did 100, shoulder hurting)
8 x BREAKOUTS - 2x each stroke IMO (skipped, shoulder ;( hurting)
First time using the tempo trainer... really sweet thing! Just tucked it into my cap, had it set to beep at every 50. Helps you know if you're slower/on/faster than set pace.

I'm way off track now since Friday AM - got a bacterial infection in my leg, my shin, but has migrated up to my groin. Major antibiotics being pumped into me. Can't really walk, so I'll be out of it for awhile.

Sorry to hear that steve, you were really on a roll there for a couple months. Hopefully you will be good to go in a week or two, that won't set you back more than a few good workouts. It's just amazing all the things that get thrown in our paths at our age, it seems never ending. I fear that racing will be just a few brief windows of health, separated by long periods of nursing one thing or another. Seems really shitty until i think about the normal senior citizens and what kind of lifestyle they live, most not able to go hard up one set of stairs without heart pain..

1x100@1:30 (??? but slowww)
3x100@1:25 (1:07, 1:10, 1:06)
100 easy
24x25 3x(4x25@:25 fast, 4x25@ :30 stroke easy)
100 easy
2800 scm
I have stopped running completely now. I had already signed up for a sprint triathlon this coming weekend. My options are a.) don't even show up. b.) show up, but don't do it. c.) do it, but just the swim, or d.) do the swim and loaf the bike and run. The problem with options b, c, and d is that it's easy to get carried away (peer pressure) and end up racing the whole thing.

Yuck. How do you get a bacterial infection in your leg? Wait, I don't want to know. Good luck in your recovery, save your energy.

And, if anyone says, "Pics or it didn't happen.", well, I can post some pretty ugly ones.
Off to the doctor now for another set of injections (4 so far - in the butt)

I have been cramming in as much yardage as i can the past few weeks, not really the greatest plan for going fast, but maybe with a few day taper i will get the most out of it. One last day here and it is sprint time;

wow, take it super easy! really sorry to hear and i hope you heal well.
bounced around the pool today- not much freestyle at all, shoulder isn't happy. a lot of kicking and working on fly kick off the walls.
SH- i say bail the early sprint race, use the time to heal and be back at 'em sooner. consider it nationals taper.

Cramming.. isn't that something we did back in college days? You know, we're not that young anymore.. blah, blah, blah.
You of all people our age can probably best absorb a punishment then taper to get a good perfromance. Good Luck, Monty!
