Anyone here have a tri bike that they have converted to a road bike and rides/handles comfortably? Considering changing up my old tri rig into a road bike with option of some clip on aerobars.

There are a few threads about this subject. I believe it depends on the bike in regards to handling but it can be done easily.

yes, I have a p2k road bike.

I don't recommend it.

it rides comfortably and handles fine but it:

1. requires a short stem because tri frames have more reach
2. requires a lot of spacers because tri frames have low stack
3. doesn't have two water bottle holders
4. has horizontal dropouts

basically a whole lot of things are compromised in the name of aero that don't make sense on road bikes. you can do it, if you have a cheap tt frame laying around and don't want to buy a road frame, but its better to just use a road frame.
