You have made guesses and predictions but here are actual details and official numbers and pictures of that Cervelo P5

http://www.slowtwitch.com/...5_unveiled_2538.html

I was super impressed with the bike and can't wait to spend more time on it.

Could we merge in the several P5 threads - or at least the spy pics one?

Herbert
One of your photos states UCI legal version comes with RT6TT brake but photo shows the RT8TT. Just want to clarify which brake comes stock?
also what is the difference between the two?
Also if I understand this correctly, one could purchase the Tri frame for main use and if one was inspired to do a UCI-legal event like Master National
all we would need to do is swap out forks and talk off head tube fairings?
thanks

Certainly amongst the 'cleanest' looking bikes I've ever seen. Not much flapping about in the breeze on that.

Love and appreciate the arm pad stack & reach chart. BTW, is that why the Slowtwitch S&R database has been down all day?

Their release seems to be sorely lacking in content.

1) Description of the differences between the two framesets. The front page describes them as if there is only one. The price chart makes it seem like the only difference is options.

2) Data, comparing the P4, P5 TT and P5 Tri (or whatever they're called, since they're not described for shit)

Herbert - the spot for a di2 battery, do you think a multitool or part of a spare kit could fit in there too?

maybe even some gels? haha

The RT8TT comes only on the Tri version, plus of course the forks and aerobars are different.

I have not seen the actual RT6TT brake but that one does indeed come with the UCI version. It is apparently the same in function and durability and feel, but slightly heavier.

I like how they setup a site just for this release, and it has no content.

I would say that the difference between the framesets are...

Fork - the wider, beefer one on the 6500 - the smaller UCI legal on the 4500
I would hazard that the brakes are different (maybe slick new hydr brakes on the 6500 - it says Tekro Mech rear brake on the 4500)
It looks like the slick new 3T aerobar is only on the 6500 version and you would get a 3T Auro on the 4500?

Thoughts?

With these prices...I am glad I got my P4...I would want the tri version - and there is no way I could afford it.

Especially as I don't think my FSA Quarq would not work in the BBright system either...

Wow, so the stack for the 51 P5 is 2.4 cm more than that of the 51 P3. My P3 is already slammed + adjustable stem negative'd out.

(it's not like I'm getting one either way... but it's nice to dream)

their website says the new aerobar allows for more lowness that most others, might be able to make it work still.

"The P5 frameset is Cervélo’s most aerodynamic ever, with skin surfaces tuned for each AeroZoneo™ to optimize airflow conditions at each point along the frame. The result is a time saving of ~30-seconds in a 40-kilometer time trial."

I assume that's vs. the P4?

You could put something else in there, but would be a bit cumbersome since you'd have to remove the wheel to get there. A Philips head screw gives access to the compartment

Thats right on par with specialized's Di2 version. I was just hoping they had something that a lower price like the specialized Shiv pro frame for 2800. Thats the best deal for one of the fastest bikes now. If I had to go get a new bike tommorrow I'd be picking up that.

Shit, it may have too much stack for me :(
I dont have 24mm worth of stack left to take out of my P3 (top cap + 3mm spacer and thats about to go) so unless the "X-lo" bars have a total stack less than my current alloy visions, this bike may well be slower for me!

Edit: Beaten to it by Awesomepossum!
